But ur point is t true cos south westerners voted for buhari..infact it's the southwesterners vote that made a difference for him the time he won
I think what gave him victory was the votes from the northeast considering that his votes from nw equalled gej votes from ss/se.also,the margin of victory in sw/nc was very narrow and lets assume that his and gej votes in sw/nc were equalled, north east broke the stalemate.

In fact the real politics was on air then ..because i wonder why the core easterners like Enugu,,Abia,,voter for Tofa,,,.,while some core northerners voted for Abiola instead of Tofa...this is serious....There is a need for us to wake up ,,and stop the politics of do or die ,,the politics of ethnicity,,the politics of hatred..let us look for the betterment of Nigeria....RIP Abiola,,Hero,,,
The margin wasn’t that much, so I think it safe to say Tofa never won in South East, Abiola won landslide in Anambra, and Igbos were just been careful not to put all their eggs in one basket.

Yes.

Abiola was a popular candidate only because of his philanthropy.

But He was insensitive to run on a Muslim -muslim ticket and had very little intellectual substance as a presidential candidate.

I wonder if you are an "Indomie-Generation" kid or you just chose to be ridiculous. Stop talking about things you have no clue about

1. @ Muslim-Muslim ticket - MKO had a meeting with the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) executives on the issue of Muslim-Muslim ticket. Abiola defended his choice of Kingibe to CAN and after the meeting...in the full glare of Nigerian press, CAN told the whole nation that they were satisfied with Abiola's explanations.

2. Abiola has little intellectual substance as a candidate? ARE YOU MAAAAADDDDDDD? Some of who children are so daaaaffftttttt you just make statements that are unbelievable. You better ask elders in your family to explain the person of MKO to you. Don't come here and make ridiculous gaffes.

Abiola sunk a whole container load of Holy Bible into the ocean.

That was the day heaven rejected him.

That was the day nature wrote him off.

That was the day his habitation became desolate and his position another took.

Moral: Play with everything, but never go against the creator of the universe.

I guess you heard this falsehood from your Village tales by Moonlight? This event NEVER happened. This is the semblance of fake news of today as was spread then.

If you knew Abiola, you will know that not only does he read the Bible as well as his Quran, he was vast in sections of the Bible. When Abiola had meetings with Christian body, he defended his Choice of Kingibe stoutly quoting relevant passages in the scriptures about choices, God's Mercy and Grace.

When Abiola was in detention, he had access to only the Bible and Quran

Truly Abiola was actually the presumed winner. But I hate the fact that people still refer to this election as free and fair election ever. Big lie! In my place in Akoko-Edo local govt, the election was well rigged in favour of Abiola and being a money politician money exchange hands.

Bros,

If you were truly around in 1993 and knew the Option A4 model, then what you have described her is not believable.

Before 1993, Babangida has already paved way for Abacha.
you are absolutely right sir. He knew Abacha had no patience when he has his eyes on power and would muddle up everything which easily divert attention from IBB misgovernance most especially the perfidy he perpetuated in NNPC which an MKO would have brought him to book no matter what.....and even after Abacha's death Major Almustapha protected MKO by planting a decoy ADC Zadok to Abiola but IBB through his cousin Abdusalami refused to free MKO after freeing all political detainees only for MKO to be ' dispatched' in the presence of the international community ( UN koffi Anan, US under Bill Clinton- condoleza Susan Rice ,Thomas Pickering and Madeleine Albright). MKO refused to renounce the mandate until he sees Nigerians who gave him the mandate. Question is why persuade Abiola to renounce the Nigerian mandate by the international conspiracy?

will you keep kwayet.. Jonathan had more than 40% votes from each South West states in 2015 yet those grunting annoying swine from flat head republic won't allow Yorubas to rest.

Nonsense.

Buhari actually only won the SW with 54% votes in 2015. 46% of yorubas voted GEJ.

Also 84% of the SW voted for GEJ in 2011. But later felt sidelined in his govt.

These Pple are not facts oriented though. They are mostly impatient brainwashed loudmouths. No wisdom whatsoever. Their best bet for actually getting the presidency in 2023 is to support APC in 2019.
PDP has already zoned their next presidency to the north. They will never give it to a southern candidate. I don't see Buhari losing this coming election.

Participating in elections now is an issue. Kwara did better than Lagos. Lagos has the population but when it comes to election day, it fizzles out. Even for recent governorship elections, check out the numbers. There's a lot of noise made but you don't see them on election day.

Maybe due to a lot of out-of-towners voting in their own states. Or not being able to vote at all. Does Nigeria have absentee balloting?

I did a quick Google search but result was inconclusive.

"The margin wasn't that much (8%difference), so I think it's safe to say Buhari never won in SW, Jonathan won landslide in Ekiti, and yorubas were just being careful not to put their eggs in one basket."

wildimagination:

Have u been to the north?? not the north the media lie to u about...
I must tell u they are one of the most wonderful pple in Nigeria..the only problem with them is...don't strike them first....they will respond a ten times tougher.

They have one voice, their rich pple sit with them on the street and buy food to eat togeda...they knock each others doors on Friday to come out and delibrately on local issues togeda after jumat
.yes their standard of living may be a bit low...but they take care about each other...how many times have u seen an Hausa man take cocaine abroad, or an Hausa man travelling to the US or UK saying he wants to stay, looking for a way to do sham marriage or live with expired papers??

They take care of each other, the average Hausa man is an active alumni of his street, neighbourhood, town and so on...
u see an northerner travel a broad for MSc or phd, his fellow predecessors have already gotten a job for him before he left Nigeria. See an ordinary herds man, he has a small transistor radio listening to news of how their place will grow and develop.
That's the reason they vote for them selves not because someone gave them small change.

Awesome post! They try to live a simple and contented life.

if I give your flat head a dirty slap, you won't see front again.

Wike is ikwere, ikwere is not ibo. Wike has proven that by honouring gowon for given ikwere their identity.

You land grabbing flat heads should face forward.

I will kick that your black ass, useless boy claiming land across river Niger, If PH is not for Igbos then Lagos is no man's land and it does not belong to the yorubas. Wike can never honour a useless man like him, we regard Jonathan here than that mad dog from far away land.

Ikwere is not Igbo? you are mad, then Ngwa is not Igbo because they are also the same clan, illiterate.
