I was searching various popular classified ad site for prices of used cell phones and I came across jumia classified ads. But the prices of the phones listed there seems too good to be true.

I don't know if anyone has had experience buying from these guys or if anyone knows why their phone prices are this cheap. Is it because they are stolen phones? I don't want to purchase a cell phone and later be traced to my home and arrested for phone theft.

According to the details on the page, you talk to the sellers on the phone, meet with them to test and confirm the product before handing over the cash.


Those guys probably just bought the phone cheap online, that's why they are able to sell it that cheap.

Op run, they will ask you to pay 30% so as to issue out invoice to you before delivary and you pay d rest on delivary.

Are u learner? Don't u know the meaning of classified? It's a platform where different people post their adverts and then u need seller and pay, jumia has absolutely NOTHING to do with this as the products are not sold or shipped by jumia. iPhone 7 for 17k and u still dey doubt, guy u go sweet to scam. If that seller that thinks he can sell iPhone 7 for 17k takes 100 of those phones to computer village dealers will buy everything from him for 70k each in less than 5 mins. So why then would he be wasting his time to sell for 17k online? Does that make sense to u?

Jumia ke? These are free classified ads so it has nothing to do with jumia. It's just like jiji, u deal with seller on ur own and these ads posted by op are 1000% scam. iPhone 7 for 17k, those scanners sef na mumu, if they had said 100k it would have looked more real even though u still can't get iPhone 7 for 100k.

Lol this is pure scam now... This is the reason why many Nigerians will always fall victims to the scammers. Imaging an iPhone 7 selling for less that 35k. Isnt it greed and selfishness that will make you believe this kind of deal

Ever since when I witnessed SARS arrest a guy last week after tracking a stolen phone (infinx note) for a year. The phone was bought something around 45k and this guy spent over 100k to track it and also to pay SARS. Now, the thief gonna vomit double. I have now made up my mind never to buy a used phone even if it is Indian used or Jamaican used.
