Pregnancy is a joint responsibility as it takes 2 to tango. However, once a child comes into the equation whether planned or unplanned , their needs should always come first even before yours as a parent.
The child is obviously staying with the mother, so the mother has taken her own part of the responsibility of raising the child- she is making sure there's a roof over her head, there's food for her to eat, clothes for her to wear, and when it's time for school she ensures she drops her off. when the child's ill, she ensures she is seen by a Dr. All these things cost money, a lot of money.
It's wickedness for a man to abandon all these responsibilty on the child's mother. It's unforgivable, as you have wronged your child. How can you eat when you don't know how your child eats everyday? You don't even check on the child to see how she's faring?
That's what a deadbeat parent is all about. Abandoning his/her responsibility towards their child.
There are some men that have children all about, but provided they are involved in the lives of their children that's ok. Davido, Flavour, Tuface are examples of such. They might be community commodities, but you can't deny they are responsible towards their children and that's all that matters. Some not so popular men do same, whether married or not. That's all that matters.
Do right by your children. Your child's mother doesn't need to take you to court before you know your child has needs that must be met.
It's just common sense and doing the right thing.
