I need an Orobo for a friend of mine, is there any one in the house with one for sale.
We would prefer it to be the one with the simple engine(not V6). Waiting to hear from the wheelers and dealers in the house.

Whats the risk factor involved, can one still pay duty for a 15yr old car?

What's ur budget ? That will determine if it's gonna be possible cos i got 2 different ones at the moment. Lagos Cleared very clean.

My friend is really skeptical about flying in the car from cotonou moreso since customs have been seizing cars on the roads of Lagos.
How much extra will it cost to have it delivered to Calabar and can one pay part of the dough first and the balance on delivery?

ADVICE:  if what u wanted  is to buy and drive within the city, ur risk factor is 50 percent but keep some change for the police cos they will witch hunt you as far as the car is clean and the number is neat too but if its older than a year on the road, no prob.

If you are the traveling type, please don't dare it cos the police will milk you dry,ITS A FACT COS I JUST TRAVELED FROM LAGOS TO PORT TODAY(imagine you passing like 30 check points between LAGOS AND BENIN and like 20 more between benin and porharcourt), and there is 75 percent chance u might loose the car to the customs.

A friend bought 96 camry orobo, travelled with it and the custom seized it at the old toll gate end benin expressway, he paid 300k to get the car back after a month with so much pleading and influence).

If you can weather the storm, good for you but if you cant please don't.

It can be heart breaking and mind threatening.

WITH A CAR WITHIN THE AGE, YOU STILL FACE PROBLEMS AT THE CHECK POINT.

With the numbers of over aged cars outside, i still believe some of us will buy and pray we don't ride when the police and customs are on rampage.

But for tips especially when the car is clean and the plate number is neat, you cant escape that.

I can drive within lagos and traveling without having to spend a kobo except i wish but with an over-aged car, pls go along with an ATM machine cos u will need to withdraw at intervals.

You are right my brother. My heart is always in my mouth anytime i travel outside lagos,despite the fact that i've been usin the car for 2yrs. Though the car is almost new cus i rearly use it. May God help us .
