Nuhu Ribadu Returns To Nigeria by jarkbauer: 7:49pm On Jun 04, 2010
Nuhu Ribadu, former chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has, this evening, arrived in Nigeria after spending about two years abroad.

Mr. Ribadu, who was received by his wife and three children at the departure terminal of the Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA), Lagos, was closely guarded out of the hall by his security officers who refused to allow journalists to conduct any interviews.

The former anti crime boss arrived at the airport at about 4:40pm from the United States of America in a Delta airlines flight and left in a Mercedes Benz.

Recently, the Police Service Commission, the arm of the Nigerian Police with the powers to employ, post, and discipline senior police officers, restored Mr. Ribadu’s former rank of Assistant Inspector General, retired.

A reliable source said Mr. Ribadu will on Sunday receive a doctorate degree at Babcock University, Ogun State.

I'm not sure if this is a good news or another sad Nigerian story.
Yes, Ribadu is my man, but looking at a bigger picture this is another I think this is an indication that Nigeria as a nation is nothing but an accident car with a bad engine.

What happened to Ribadu has not been addressed, none of us really understand what went down. And foolish government is not really saying anything sensible about Ribadu's situation or what he's given permission to return.
If we do not know what happened how can we truly move forward? How can we prevent such thing from occuring again?
How can we work for our government with confidence? And what are we teaching our children?
I think the citizens deserve to know what was behind Ribadu's situation. If he was wrong we should know and if he was not, all the folks that cooked up his crime should be identified and punished.

If we do not learn one or two things about what happened, the same shi t will happen again and very shortly.
The big question is, who is next?

Nigerians should not quickly get carried away about Ribadu's return or his hon degree, instead, Nigerians should ask more questions and get to the bottom of what really happened.
Sweeping everything under the carpet is what got us here in the first place.

If you are impressed. Or happy that Ribadu is back or make any noise over his hon degree, you're simply a blind bush boy.
Re: Nuhu Ribadu Returns To Nigeria by cre8tivity(f): 8:40am On Jun 05, 2010
again isn't about ribadu and it was never so. it is all about the future of our country and the standard we are setting up for ourselves.
whether this is a bad or good news time will tell. but we can not move forward by doing the same shit over and over (sweeping shit under the carpet and thinking we are moving forward). nigerians are not fools (anymore), we deserve an explanation. We want to know what went down, we want to know why ribadu ran out of the country for almost 2 yrs. what or who was behind the show and why he's allowed to return @ this time? we can not continue this way in this country; things need to be addressed clearly and the great citizens deserve to know what is going on in this country. we are sick and tired of this foolish game, the game that hasn't brought us anything fruitful for the past 50 yrs. if things are not clearly addressed or completely resolved, nigerians will experience the same thing again, it is a matter of time.
depilot, i totally agree with you; the big question is: who is next and when exactly is this same shit will happen again.

it just goes to show you that in this country, your political affiliation/ the company you keep (politically that is) will determine your longevity,

as far as ur paddy paddy is in power or the friend of your  paddy paddy is in power, you are master and commander!!!!

ribadu that was hounded, disgraced and investigated out of this country and made to live in exile for two years now has come back home like a king.

food for thought,

i bet you that if ibori survives this storm and the next person is his man, he will come back triumphantly at most be given the "el-rufai treatment"

Sorry, but we know what happened. Ribadu is a good man that was driven out of the country by his fellow "Northerners" like you. Just for the simple reason that he and others in a vibrant, youthful generation of true Northerners were shaking up the corrupt "leadership" cadre in the North. The like of Ribadu (not IBB, Yerima or Atiku etc) hold the key to the Northern future in Nigeria; he is educated, intelligent, smart and modern, not one of your 13 year old baby marrying oppressors, thank you!

By the way, do you remember when you were freely making death threats and threats to peoples family's all over NL? Times, they are changing! Fool!

Uncle Joe should ready a plush govt sit for him. Depilot, Ribadu is here to get you! grin grin grin

^^^^^^^^, What was wrong with what I said? He was on a panel about developing leaders for Africa and from what I heard, he didn't seemed like an evil guy. I don't know him personally and I doubt anybody here know him personally, so anything we have to say is based on our impression on him or rumors about him.

Re: Nuhu Ribadu Returns To Nigeria by BigB11(m): 4:17pm On Jun 05, 2010
First, a big congrats to Ribadu and his family. There is no place you live or you stay or you go that is sweeter than lovely Nigeria. The home of the poor, the rich, the 419 and bunch of other bone heads. The country that you kick during the day time and quickly embrace during the night time.
Ribadu is so happy to be back home one could easily melt down from his joyful facial expression. And can you blame him?
Second, it is also known by the real insiders that Ribadu has only been given permission to return with several conditions. Hence, if Ribadu isn't talking about certain things do not be surprised. But one thing is for sure: Ribadu is a smarter and better man than yesterday, it is also completely clear to him now that Nigeria as a country belongs to over 150 mil citizens and not just to Ribadu.
I assure you that now that he has only 1 ball left Ribadu will do his job (if he gets one) accordingly and very much professionally.
Finally, Ribadu from day one was always a true Nigerian who wanted it all for his country, but from one or two reasons back in those days he got carried away by sharing food with the evil ones (OBJ and co). But it is now a new game a new life and I hope he takes advantage of this great opportunity this time around.

Fact:Ribadu and Goodluck were always talking;I heard that they spoke at least once a week when Yaradua was the president and twice a day since Goodluck became our president. Infact, he met with Goodluck tha last time our president was in United States (just a couple of months ago).
I say: let us all be happy for the young man and hope for the best, this may not be bad for Nigeria as a nation, but the Fed Govt should come out and present why Ribadu left, why he was invited to return and identify what he crime was, if there was one That is the only way we can move forward together as a nation or else Ibori will also return one day contesting for presidential election; afterall it's all about who you know in my lovely country called NIGERIA.

One love.

bob marley said; he who fights and run away will live to fight another day.
what this means is that there is still hope for the iboris and those who will commit and run away from justice in future.
ribdau is one of those who sees tomorrow in nigeria.
if he had honoured the invitations of the nigerian police and that of the icpc, he may be in prison by now but for his resistance and self exile, today he is welcome back as a prince of our time.
the good and great lesson here is for our politicians and public office holders to learn to run away from justice only to come back when the coast is clear.
at the end of the day, we will still be where we are in the next 50yrs.
jonathan can never tell nigerians why he like his father(obj) forced the nigerian police to change their stance and decission on ribadu.
with this development that brought back run away criminals like el rufai and ribadu, we know who is in charge. the realities of third term is in progress.
nigerians shld look else where because pdp has proved nothing but failure.
at 50, no electricity, no water supply, no good raods, no hospitals, no schools, no security, no judiciary, no police, no political parties, no, no, no yet we are in democracy. God help nigeria.

@solofrapel,
the names of these politicians u mentioned above are somehow related to the same administration in which ribadu did the wonderful job that u are praising here - pls explain that.
if u are well informed on this matters as u claim, could u pls link us to any administration that looted more than the obj's administration.
the govs u mentioned above, were 36+ so tell us how u gave ur pass mark with 2 or 3 of them investigated.
what do u have to say about the atiku 's case in which ribadu indicted him and he is still outside or is the new punishment for confirmed criminals the same as freedom?
like i mentioned above, if u can steal and run away from nigeria, u can make ribadu ur point of contact and come back after some time.
my dear, in a plain language, outline some or most of the tangible achievements of that administration as u and i know issues related to us$16b electricity contract, the refineries contracts, the N300b ibadan-benin expressway reconstruction contract, the harlibutton scandal, the siemens scandal, the mrs etteh scandal, iyabo obasanjo scandal, the bode george npa scandal, the ogbulafor pdp funds scandal(2001).
uncle, all these and other unmentioned cases happened right there under the nose of ur god-sent ribadu.
will u believe that less noise making waziri cld be the one to jail bode george. is it possible that ur ribadu was not aware of the ogbulafor's issue? be wise and grow up and tell us that we are no fools.

Chidichris: May God bless you. This is exactly my point.
Yes, I'm very glad for the man, but extremely sad for the future of this country. Many of us fail to realize that deep down the return of Ribadu signifies a very dark future and a poor judgement from the top to the bottom.
What we do not know or realize at the point is many corrupt politicians are also planning their various ways out of the country at the end of their term and at the same time calculating their return strategy back to the country. And this will remain so till we are smart enough to realize what we have been doing incorrectly for the past 50 yrs.

This is definitely not about Ribadu, but all about the way forward. The return of Ribadu at this time and unaddressed is nothing but way backward (the style we are all used to).
All it takes is Kalu to become our predident for Ibori to return back to Nigeria to head the CBN.

How long are we going to allow our various retarded state of mind to keep us blind?

Again, if you're jubilating that Ribadu is back, you're simply a blind bush boy (BBB).
We deserve much better that this foolish game.
