INFORMATION:

The Inspector General of Police has since yesterday deployed the Police Special Intervention Force to Plateau State to Barkin-Ladi, Riyom, and Jos South LGAs, and other flash points in the State. The IGP has also asked the Deputy Inspector General of Police; Department of Operations to relocate to Jos, Plateau State to coordinate and supervise operations on the ground.

Police Surveillance Helicopters, 5 Armored Personnel Carriers, 3 Police Mobile Force Units (PMF), 2 Counter Terrorism Cells (CTU ) and Police Intelligence Unit and conventional Police personnel from other States have also been deployed to the affected areas in Plateau State. A Police Special investigation Team, comprising the Intelligence Response Team (IRT), Special Tactical Squad (STS) and Tactical Intelligence Unit (TIU), led by Commissioner of Police, IGP Monitoring Unit, have already been deployed to Plateau State & have commenced investigation.

The Police Special Intervention Force will ensure full enforcement of the curfew imposed on the affected areas by the Plateau State Govt. Its personnel will carry out 24-hour surveillance and patrol; stop and search of vehicles and of suspected locations & hideouts of assailants. Very poor ..in the east during Kanus debacle the Army was deployed even though a single person was not killed But in this serious case only the police is being deployed even though we know they don't have the capacity to contain such an enemy.

This is a good one, i appreciate the fact that the government has deployed some police 0fficers to the state. I know that the federal government will not relent until justice is done. they have been trying so hard to counter insurgency in this country and it seems their are some people underground trying to spoil the effort of this administration.
