[size=14pt]Top US preacher who quit after gay scandal returns to start up his own church[/size] A leading American preacher who quit the church after becoming embroiled in a gay sex scandal has started up a new ministry. Ted Haggard became America's leading evangelical pastor after founding the New Life Church in 1985. But he resigned in disgrace more than three years ago after a male love-peddler claimed Haggard had paid him for sex. 'This is my resurrection day,' he declared this week as he announced he and his wife Gayle, who stood by him in the wake of the scandal, would run the church together.  'Resurrection day': Ted Haggard announces plans to establish a new church three years after his gay sex scandal, as wife Gayle looks on Haggard's fall from grace came after he reached celebrity status through the New Life Church, based in Colorado Springs, which grew to a congregation of more than 14,000. During the height of his popularity he visited George W Bush at the White House and became president of the National Association of Evangelicals. But following the claims from the gay love-peddler, Haggard left the church and moved from Colorado Springs. But he has now returned from Arizona to establish the new church, but he admitted he did not know how many people it would attract. 'I feel we have moved past the scandal,' he said on Wednesday. Haggard says he is heterosexual but admitted to having gay urges because he was molested by a man when he was a child. Haggard said the church would welcome gays and bisexuals and urge them to 'study the scriptures and 'explore that with God.' He said he would teach that God intended marriage to be a monogamous union of a man and a woman. But he said heterosexual marriage was just one ideal in a long list of things God wants people to do, including pray, be healthy and stay monogamous. He said the ordeal had prepared he and his wife to help others. 'I have an incredible heart for broken people,' he said. 'I think we're qualified to hold people's hands in times of trouble. Haggard called himself a repentant sinner and a broken man. 'When the crash came in my personal life, it was so incredibly embarrassing and heartbreaking,' he said. 'It broke me. And I'm still broken, some.' He didn't feel qualified or entitled to return to the ministry, but said he felt compelled to do so by love for others. He cited conversations he had this week with a woman fighting drugs and with an unmarried couple expecting their second child. 'I'm certainly not going to say no to people (who need help) because of my personal shame. I've got to overcome my personal shame and be willing to help somebody that knocks on our door,' he said. This foolish rouge was actually invited by Oyedepo to come preach back in my school days. . . . So much for fruit of discernment  I'm so glad I missed the useless service as usual.Funny enough, there were reports of ''miracles'' and ''healings'' by the holy spirit. . . . I guess the guy is right, the Holy Spirit must be a fuking Homosexual.  |

Infact, Ted Haggard was to be invited for a programme in oyedepo's church when the scandal broke, the billboards n posters pasted around with haggards face had to be shamefully n hastily brought downcome to think of it, Oyedepo hasnt been walking fine ever since Teddy was in town. , .
