Mouthbreathing by Uglymugg: 10:18am On Jun 27, 2018
What can I do in other to breath with my nose? I've had stuffy nose since I was a kid and have been breathing through my mouth. Having my mouth open over the years and an inadequate amount of oxygen intake has resulted in so many irreversible damages to my face (sloopy forehead, etc) and internal anatomy. How can I get rid of stuffy nose once and for all? sometimes I feel I'm not suppose to be alive because how can I continue living while breathing manually everyday? It's so exhausting and depressing. In summary, my nose is just a useless chunk of flesh in front of my face; it does nothing. Sometimes I look at people who breath with their nose and I envy them; so effortless, so unaware of the fact that they are breathing, come rain come sunshine they always breath fine. Sorry for the blog post, I need help.

Why not take this to a physician? If truly you need help, you know where to get it.

I think it's a case of adenoid hypertrophy, you need to see an ENT and ENT surgeon

Did some research on this (for adults) Is there a way to cure it without invasive surgery?
Re: Mouthbreathing by Aquablue: 4:38pm On Jun 27, 2018
Surgery is the best option and it's not invasive, procedure is through your mouth, only the adenoids and possibly tonsils removed, nothing else is cut,not scary at all
You can manage with corticosteroids (nasal spray s)and antibiotics.also stay off it allergens either food or chemicals in d envt

God, I am having the same problem as you, mine was partially my fault, I did something to my nose when I was younger and since then, could not be able to breath with my nose perfectly. It's just like the same thing happening to both of us, I visited the ENT Doctor, he required me for a surgery ; its very expensive. I think the problem is from the thoraxic... bla bla stuff like that. I would love to hear your opinion.

I've been looking for a permanent solution to mine. I got diagnosed with Nasal Polyps, and they have been blocking my nasal passage for a very, very long time. It's either they shrink it with steroids, or surgically remove it. After tons of research, I can now breath partially well, at least better than before. I sleep 8 hours every night (it used to be 3 hours before) and can close my mouth for the whole day, it feels good. I used vitamin C with bioflavonoid to treat it for a while. It didn't work too well until i started taking 1 table spoon of honey after every meal, coupled with the vitamin C. I now feel alive. I've also changed most of my diet, I consume more animal proteins, fruits (banana, watermelon, pineapple) etc., instead of carbs.

They said they will remove mine surgically, I had to run an x ray. I'd really love to know if there is any other alternative apart from surgery, research told me it should have been done earlier ; when I was younger, you know African parent and superstition, now due to their nonchalance am running here and there.

Yeah. I know how it feels. Although I don't know if we both have the same problem, but for me, the one thing that chAnged my situation was taking 1 tea spoon of honey.

I hate honey soo much, right from my childhood. But now, I love it more than money; it has helped so much. I only take it after eating either breakfast, lunch, or dinner, otherwise I would have running stomach and stomach pain.

I don't know if it's easy to get original honey in Nigeria, but over here, it's very easy. Try it and see if it works.
