Back to say something.

Her statements are partially true. But those pastors are not the problem. They're not the one in government. We have billionaires in the oil, entertainment industry, gas, among others who have their own private jets.
If a country is bad, check the crop of people they called leaders.
Poverty wasn't this rampant during the last regime until this present one.
Pastors are not your problem. Your government and their POLICIES is the problem.
US, UK and others have lesser people below poverty line because their government are working and they do put the square pegs in the square holes unlike this country Nigeria.

I had the worst January of my life under this government. They've actually frustrated everyone in this country.

The basics of Jesus's Christianity is love n taking care of the poor. Jesus continuously did thayntill he died.

Each time people come to Jesus for preaching, At the end he will ask his disciplines what they have available so that these people will eat. That is what a christlike life looks like, It's NEVER done in Nigeria by Nigerian pastors.

Shot up your mouth there. Did ay pastor force you to give tithe or give offering in the church. Sey na pastor be your government? Rubbish! When people without job doesn't want to look for what to do, the next person they vent their anger on are pastors. Onirarun!

Yes, Pastors ""FORCE"" their followers to pay tithe n give them money generally.

Most rich pastors, More rich pastors, rich pastors, few rich pastors, very few rich pastors, no rich pastors...maybe rich pastors are the ones helping people to get out of poverty. Look before you leap...

Nigeria sha, the gulf between the pastors and followers is too too wide, we have eyes and head use them. See them Saudi, Dubai Luxembourg or Denmark they don't pray their problems away but create solutions. We let these vile snakes in suit sweet talk us to remain poor.
This is a new form of slavery.

All these dumb and ignorant Nigerians exposing their ignorance and disgracing themselves on the social media. Like I had previously stated: the most dangerous person in the world is a Nigerian with access to the social media.

First of all, Nigeria is NOT the poorest country in the world so she got it wrong right off the bat. It would've made more sense if she had said that Nigeria is one of the poorest countries in the world.
Secondly, when the Lord Jesus Christ said "Feed my sheep", He was talking about feeding them with the Word of God not physical food.

Anywayz, I stopped after reading that second paragraph. I don't have the time to waste of nonsensical nonsense shocked

O pari
If u don't have physical food, how do u get in, the word of God? Nigeria is poor in spite of rich resources but u can only know this when u visit a western country.

Why is everything in Nigeria about pastors?
Are pastors the comander-in chief?
Are pastors the ones heading the economic team?
Are pastors the ones padding budgets?
Are pastors the ones stealing Nigeria dry, even to date?
Are pastors presiding over those almajiris?
Did pastors ask them over there to give birth to dozens of children they cannot take care of?
Do psators have Oil blocks?
Are pastors the heads of those Emirs who own the oil blocks?
Are pastors the grasscutter?
Are pastors the Maina, who was smuggled into the country and reinstated through the back door?
Are pastors the killer Fulani herdsmen, which should be of uttermost concern to everyone who valuese the lives of human beings?
Are pastors controlling the economic?
Did pastors cause Nigeria to nosedive in every index of measurement?
Did pastors appoint round pegs in square holes?

You're just insulting your intelligence and likewise that lady. What she wrote happens to be the dumbest I've read. Logically, it seems she's making sense but economically, who's saddled with the job of running an economy? If she claims pastors amass wealth, aren't these monies in banks? What are the primary functions of banks and the CBN? Need I also remind you that Poverty rate in Nigeria happens to be highest in the North? Islamic States.

Blame your short-sighted government, not pastors.

Pastors should be blamed if they are in charge of the nation's resources/wealth, Nigeria been so rich with abundant natural resources, yet ranked as the poorest in the world...what an irony!
The sadest thing is that there are blue prints every where to copy, infact others have taken our seedlings n turned into large exporters of finished products...And someone here is blaming pastors?

Actually, there's poverty everywhere. America is the richest country in the world but America also have the largest number of homeless people. If California is a country, it would be the 6th richest country in the world but California has the largest number of poor people in the whole United States. So go figure ...

And by the way, I am not trying to downplay the level of poverty in Nigeria. No, not all. I was just trying to to validate the accuracy or lack thereof of her statement. She shouldn't be quoting the scripture out of context to make her case. And if you wanna post something on the world wide web, you better get your basic facts right.

And by the way, if she has problems with the level of poverty in Nigeria then she should focus her attentions on the Nigerian government. The church did not create poverty in Nigeria.

There is something you people have refused to understand. This pastors weren't born with silver spoons. They sacrificed and worked in the path of righteousness before they could get to this level. Moreover, what you said about Christ telling His disciples to feed His flocks is being misunderstood here. The Feeding here is talking about the spiritual food-- The Word. I am not saying that the church shouldn't care or provide physical relief. But we need to understand priority-- The spiritual food. The spiritual food which is the Word can provide virtually everything. Christ said, "The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me, because He has anointed me to preach the GOSPEL to the poor..." Lk.4:18. What the poor actually need is enlightenment. Poverty has been existing since time immemorial. No government of the world can wipe it out until Christ comes.

Nevertheless, these men are trying by making themselves available, and God is using them as conduit pipes to feed us with revelations. They are blessings to our generation. The only thing I want them to do is speak out against any evil government.
Re: Poverty In Nigeria Vs Richest Pastors In Nigeria - By Alawode-James Jumoke by boringnigerian: 6:19pm On Jun 29, 2018
Of course, Nigerians would run to the rescue of their pastors with words like "If you don't want to pay tithe, stay at home. They are not forcing you to pay."

Well, I don't know if any of you has heard of psychological duress - putting pressure on someone without having to use physical force. Or what do you call words like "If you don't pay your tithes, you won't make heaven" or "Paying tithes is your password to accessing God's blessings". Creating fear in people's minds so they pay without question and still defend you on top.

Sure, pastors are not the government but most of our Daddy G.Os of big churches and Imams wield enormous influence over people in government and can actually influence policy. Or at the very least, when our leaders aren't doing something right, our religious leaders should not be afraid to call them out and tell them the truth. But instead they would keep mum so the don't lose their high profile customers. So yes, people calling out rich Nigerian pastors have a very good point and it's sad that Nigerians would rather close their eyes so they don't see it.

In the 70's n 80's bin a pastor is synonymous with poverty, infact church rats were called poor, now the church has exploded with the wisdom of God, they are calling pastors wicked, most churches may their workers, most have schools, I think Govt should hand over it's responsibilities to trusted churches and watch things turn around...

Now u have brought America., the issue is some people wanna be poor and while others the system impoverishes them. Let Nigeria have the infrastructure and system in place first and see. How many times since you were born, have u ever had water running for 24hrs,power etc..? We create unemployment and that breeds brain damage and hopelessness, which churches and mosques feed on.

According to Twitter user, Alawode James-Jumoke, it is absurd that the country with the highest number of poor people in the world is also home to the richest pastors.
She also faults the pastors who keep amassing wealth rather than using their considerable popularity to influence government policy that will favour their congregation.
