Lagos4me:
Let's agree that Nigerian population is 175 million and you want to share 350 million dollars among them, what will one person get? That's simply 2 dollars per person. Will this reduce poverty or is this making any sense to you. Please Nigerians don't be fooled.

Even if is 87.5 people that are poor in Nigeria. What they will get is 4 dollars per person, this can't reduce poverty, these people in APC are foolish. The senator is right.
What are you saying, do you know how much is $350m??

Some people that believe stealing is not corruption would have shared it among themselves with no one knowing about it.
Thanking God a new Sherrif is in town!

Lol, it's not that way at all.
I do think like that when I was around 10 years old too.
Don't worry you will learn it is not like that in few years to come.
If they share it that way, it will only be enough for 350 people (maybe just people on ONE street!!)
Funny how I smiled reading this cheesy.

Sometimes I don't know how a goverment can come up with a sensitive Issue like this without taking time to work out the details and adequately sensitize the public and hope it should succeed.

Please, this would have been a good approach if we Nigerians;
1 agree on a transparent criteria for identifying who a poor family is
2. Distribution of beneficiary across states and local governments
3. Access of the public to every information concerning this
4. Specific socio-economic expenditures where families that benefits must apply the money to generate economic multiplier for the overall economy
5. Mechanism for grievances and redress.

$350million is not small money for a nation in debt. It must be used wisely

They forgot that these guys gave conditions for releasing the money to Nigeria.

Provided it get to ordinary Nigerians and not politicians, I'm okay
How can a sngle man collecting nearly 20million naira a month in a contry that is the Capital of poverty talk like this. Is it not under this Senators watch that Nigeria overtook India as the World Capital of Poverty. Rather than go and establish companys with their Looted funds, they prefer to sit tight in National Assembly till they die, padding budget. Is it not high time these Old men were chased away, and Legislature made a part time work. Just as fg has been paying Money to militants bank account accurately for years without complaints, they should do to these poor people as every 2mins Nigerian are getting poor. Where is all the money collected from World bank to provide Water and constant light to the poor man? Men like Shehu Sani shared the money and wiped their mouth clean

Saying that the money shouldn't be shared to the poor would sound so cruel but it is a better idea.

If some of the money meant for IDPs could be stolen, why would this be different especially with the sophistication of Corruption in Nigeria?

Using the money for publicly-monitored short-term projects (3 - 6 months) that would directly impact the poor populace, would be a better idea.

* A good example is creating a Technology Hub in several cities where unemployed youths would be trained and equipped for Business.

* Another is purchasing Agricultural Machinery that can serve poor farmers in the villages to increase productivity in their farmlands.

* Another is looking out for Students in their Final Year in Public Tertiary Institutions who can't afford Project/School Fees.

* Same goes for those in critical condition in the hospitals, left to die because they can't pay their bills.

The list is just endless...
