40+ Military Code Words For Writers by Abra4real(m): 8:10pm On Jun 30, 2018
One thing I've observed so far from military stories here on Nairaland is that they lack military code words. I'm guilty of that, too. But that shouldn't be anymore. I've outlined more than forty military code words for writers. Experienced writers can add more.

Thanks.

Six o'clock: rear, behind.
Example: "Bravo 2, watch our six!"

Twelve o'clock: in front of.
Example: "RPG! Twelve o'clock."

Five-by-five: fine, okay, all right / loud and clear.
Example: "Chalks 1, 2, 3, your rotors are still functional, correct?"
"Chalk 1, five-by-five."
"Chalk 2, five-by-five."
"Chalk 3, negative. I need to put her down."

Mag(s): magazine (also known as clips) which bullets are stored, fixed into an automatic weapon, and fired.
