pls nairalanders help me out with ur advice.is it feasible to get married by the end of this year with a monthly salary of N41,000.how much would a typical and succeesful church marriage and reception cost me.married nairalanders help me with estimates of how much such items as gold rings,cake,suit,wedding gown etc would cost me in all.i really luv my girl and want to get married by the end of the year!

church wedding, i don't think so. the expenses involved would be too much. even if you save N15,000 monthly and at the end of the year, December for instance, you'll have N135,000. that i'm afraid will not be enough for the wedding because you'll have to make plans for last minute hitches.
but if you opt for court marriage, you might hit the mark, since you'll be budgetting most of your money on the reception which i'm afraid should be planned on a small scale. meaning you'll have to plan for a low-profile wedding involving family members and close friends.
i hope my suggestion makes any impact.

Personally, I won't advice you to right now. Let's say you save N20K every month since January, that would amount to just N240k. Okay, have you thought about what comes after the wedding expenses?
If the lady is yours, she'll understand and wait a till you hold levels proper.

Just cause you are getting married doesnt mean you have to break the bank.

If you wanna get married now and cnt afford it, then get married on a smaller scale and when u together for like 3 or 5 years then you go all out.

The main thing is that u are with the one you truly love.

As per tha fact of marrying someone with a salary of 41000 naira, why not if its enough to sustain urself and the family - and i suspect you will be contributing towards the upkeep of the home.

Hey! it is very possible,one thing about marriage is that somany  people think that until you go to the alter and probably invite more than two hundred people that you are not ready.Well my advice is that you should cut your coat according to your size.Go to your pastor and get something arranged for you, wish you the best of luck.

So my brother, try and save enough for the wedding but don't bother with how

The best advice for you at this stage is that if you are convinced you want to marry at the end of this year, go right ahead and do just that. Dont mind pple who want you to postpone 'cos of funds. Let me tell you the truth, you can never have enuff! the more you save, the higher the budget goes. I just wedded like 4 months ago. I honestly wanted a low profile wedding cos it was kinda rushed. i planned on paper and came up with 250k for d low profile wedding. But you know what happened? it shot up by a hundred percent. I ended up spending like half a milla and it was low profile- all because i wanted to satisfy people. People who will immediately vanish after the wedding, drop you like a hot cup of coffee! So broda man, just be yourself. Dont bend to people. CAter for the absolutely necessary things and be a MAN. Its only a day and you'l survive. Cheers and congrats in advance. dunno how that is possible. Maybe not just ur salary but u both combined.
dunno why the cost of marriage gotta be a big deal in nigeria

maybe u both shld just have a court or traditional marriage and then go for
the church and other ceremonies wheneva u've got the money.
