Ronaldo has accepted a £500,000-a-
week salary at Juventus as his move
away from Real Madrid develops.
The Los Blancos superstar is finally
ready to leave the Bernabeu for
£88m, after nine years at the club.
And the Italian champions are ready
to pay the price to land the
Portuguese talisman who scored one
of the greatest Champions League
goals against them last season.
According to Italian news media
outlet AS, the 33-year-old wants to
play on until he turns 41 and
complete another eight seasons of
football.
And Ronaldo's dream was to retire at
Real Madrid, but that now looks dead
in the water as he looks to secure
his exit after unsettled rift with the
club's heirachy.
The former Manchester United man
had waited six months for a new
contract offer from Bernabeu
president Florentino Perez, but was
fuming by January when no offer
was made.
Former manager Zinedine Zidane was
one of the figures who pushed for an
improved contract for Ronaldo during
the course of last season.
Super agent Jorge Mendes has
discussed terms with the Serie A
winners and their owners, the Agnelli
family.
And a £500,000 per week in wages
would keep him among the best-paid
players on the planet.
Meanwhile, NAIJ.com had earlier
reported that Juventus immediately
placed a bid for Ronaldo following
Portugal's ouster at the World Cup.
Ronaldo and his teammates were
knocked out of the World Cup by
Uruguay in the round of 16 courtesy
of a brace from Edison Cavani with
an earlier response from Pepe.
The Portuguese star put his future in
doubt after Real Madrid defeated
Liverpool in the Champions League
