A police inspector was killed by a herdsman in Bagudo local government area of Kebbi state yesterday July 11th.

According to reports, a farmer had reported the herdsman to the police officers at Kaoje police station in the local government. The farmer accused the herdsman of bringing his cows into his farm to feed and destroy his crops.

A police officer was ordered to go and arrest the herder who was still wandering with his cattle within the area. The Police officer who came with his riffle, arrested the suspect but as he was taking him to the waiting patrol vehicle,the herdsman drew his machete and stabbed the officer in his neck. The officer bled to death.

Confirming the incident, the police public relations officer (PPRO), DSP Mustapha Suleiman, said the hersman has been arrested and has also confessed to the crime.
