I’m curious, is anyone reading this right now sacred of having a child immediately after tying the knot? This has now become a topic among many single ladies and even a common practice among newly weds.

Why should you be afraid though? My apologies for bringing religion into this for those that do not share my faith, but isn’t children a gift from God?

I was having a conversation with a sister of mine just this morning when the topic came up. i was shocked when she revealed her plans to wait a couple of years before bearing kids, on the basis that kids are expensive and she went on to list the various expenses having a child will incur.

If i say she doesn’t have a point in all she said, i would be lying. however, i do not feel a child is one of those things to put off until you hit it big, because you will be waiting for a long time. If you don’t incur those expenses now, you will definitely incur them in the future, so why are you waiting?

Let’s face facts, money is never enough, even the likes of Bill Gates and Aliko Dangote are still looking for new ways they can double or even triple their earnings.

The best you can do in these situations is to bare the number of children you can afford to take care of and watch every other thing fall into place. Except of course there’s some other reason you’re putting off bearing children?

Nonetheless, this is my opinion, and it doesn’t stop you from taking your personal decision. At the end of the day “to each his own.”
