The Group Of Hope, Group H, kicks off in earnest, with pre-tournament fantasy team, La Roja of Spain taking on Switzerland.
Both teams last met at this level in 1994, at the round of 16, with Spain taking all three points, courtesy of Julio Salinas, Luis Enrique, and Goikotxea.

Both teams have improved in their own way since then. While Switzerland is not exactly the same side that paraded the likes of Alan Sutter and Stephane Chapuisat, Spain have gone on to win the European cup since then, and have an armada of glittering stars. The names Torres, Xavi, Villa, Iniesta, Pique, Puyol, Ramos, Alonso, Silva, are usually very bad news to opposition in Europe, and their 12-0 qualification record speaks for itself.
