Look, you take pride in your job as a gigolo. I take pride in mine as a games tester. So stay in your lane, if I was looking for tips in your area, I'll simply ask, until then, stop embarrassing yourself because that's what you've been doing. Now, imma give you a week so you can enjoy the wares of your labour and you can rest and stop embarrassing yourself.

women and their misuse of power, you started it but when it got heated and you couldn't handle it, you banned him. what if you weren't a moderator. if you wanted to be ethical, you'd have blocked him earlier. Moreso he's entitled to his opinion, he actually made some pretty good points based on his perspective

back to the topic:
seems the op doesn't understand what AAA means. how many low budget good games have you seen made in Nigeria except some boring/stale and repeated 2d games. the problem mostly lies with Nigeria's computer scientists(students). most don't give a fu*k about game development, it's either web development or entrepreneurship, so tell me how things like these are going to be possible. you'd be surprised most people in game development over here ain't studying/didn't event study computer science but got involved due to their curiosity. game development ain't that hard if you're focused. i for one have created few 2d games and 2 semi open world PC games with unity3d game engine using some free game assets and programming knowledge from books and YouTube videos. creating a game is not the real problem but making money off it is almost impossible over here cos after putting much effort to it, you'd be surprised how your work will be pirated in minutes after distribution. the only time you will see a Nigerian buy a mobile game is if the pirated copy or crack is non existent, though I've seen some few people buy mobile games though, but it's rare.

CONCLUSION: create games because you love to and not because you want to make money from it for now, if your game is good enough you might get lucky and be hired by top game companies and finally be free from this shi*thole and people with low mentality about games and gaming like rentAcock. ciao

Men and their misplaced sense of entitlement. See how useless generalisation is teewhydope? At the end of the day, the guy spoke his rubbish and was vulgar with said rubbish. He was embarrassing himself, I simply saved him the trouble of not furthering his embarrassment. Guy was casting his supposed business (whether it was real or imaginary). But, if that looked like it was me being unable to handle the heat, then you're sorely mistaken.

Trolling and cursing isn't exactly how to discuss, is it?
And don't be stupid. Even If I didn't know what AAA mean at least I'd Google it before posting now, wouldn't I? Don't be a d!ck. Sounding condescending doesn't make you look intelligent.

don't be ridiculous, seems you can't handle critics. non of your points correlate with AAA games, Indie games is more suitable for your title but why do I even care?

Yea, you see you are not a critic. Critics reason. Well at least that's what they'd like to make us think. There's no time range in my title. You people are just blabbing your way through a topic you don't even get in the first place. Smfh

lol your topic makes no sense, believe it or not. it's good to think bigger but AAA games aint possible for now. you probably don't know the meaning of AAA, where do you want average Nigerians to raise billions of naira to produce a game; even with fund raising. AAA games cost billions of naira to make, let's start with indie game first. cussing to make all your points tells a lot about you. no wonder you couldn't deliver a sensible post.

Budget depends on certain factors. Imagine if a group of people came together to make a game outta their own pockets and talent. They wouldn't have to hire extra manpower/labour. I reckon that'll slash the budget significantly.

Honestly, I was bored and was waiting for a train, but had to shut him down, since he was just embarrassing himself in his quest to show his dominance. Plus, I believe he would soon put his whole business out there in his misguided attempt.

So after I've used u to mop the floor, you decided to ban me? Well you might have to ban me again because I cannot be censored and that is actually an abuse of power. You don't expect to throw jabs at me and not get smoked.

Work got too boring for me, just so you know, I'm self employed and work anytime of the day. I handle at least 3 foreign clients everyday. The money was coming which is good but, I started hating the only job I've been doing for so many years. I started having frequent migraines. Work piled up. I gave unnecessary excuses to my clients. I had no option than to talk to someone about it. Before now, I used to game alot. Then responsibilities came, I became less interested due to work. He suggested I spend my evenings gaming. I created a new schedule. Ended my work by 7pm everyday and straight to games. I spent 120,000 naira on new pc games and other gaming accessories and you know what?
The migraine stopped, I took a different approach to my job, I did everything seamlessly. Got more connections, became happier and earnings increased.
Just so you know, this started happening last month.
My dp is a proof if you think I'm making up stories.
I don't know how shitty your life is, get a game console and thank me later.
Have a good evening

This is perhaps the highest level of denial I've ever seen. The issue being discussed is about the lack of productivity that results from playing video games and not it's effect as a stress reliever. So many things help relieve stress such as drugs, alcohol and gambling, but do they increase productivity of a society as a whole?

Play your video games as you want, you may actually be addicted to it, but justifying it's important other than a mere form of entertainment is truly the height of self denial and white frankly you might need to see a shrink.

I'm more amazed that you took your time to write this rubbish. Video games are a form of entertainment and nothing more. So many grown men waste valuable time playing silly video games that doesn't enrich them in anyway. Why should Nigeria even have a video game title Aren't there more Nigerian youths already languishing away by gambling? Video games leads to lack of productivity and that's the last thing a society needs. Abeg there are already too many forms of media fighting for our eyeballs, we don't need more of them.
Do you know it's a Multi Billion dollar sector ?
Do you know there are people who make a very decent living out of gaming, BOTH PLAYING AND CODING ?
OK, let's forget about the Nigerian mentality, Bitcoin was once seen as a waste of funds, Facebook was once seen as a distraction to many, imagine a programmer who can code and develop games starts from scratch and blooms to the lime light, SONY, Nintendo and the rest recruits them sharply.
After we will now start saying "Na Naija Boy sha"
Even on Nairaland most people who talk about gaming are mostly based in other countries.
Please brother, no idea is waste of time so far as it's not illegal and it's making positive vibes then it's OK

idiots are attacking this man's genius idea with useless counter arguments. it's no mystery that the gaming industry is now a multi-billion dollar sector. if nigeria were to just pour in 150 million dollars to create just one tripple A title, the amount of revenue they will generate within the continent of africa alone will be tremendous. not to mention it will spur new jobs for our youths who are looking into software programming as career choices. nigeria is almost 200 million in population, if most homes had consoles and we had games that were fairly priced, our economy will be stronger. nollywood won't even be our form of entertainment again, games will be. look at america or japan that pump out video games and anime they are generating money like there's no tomorrow. always look for other sources of revenue, not just roads, hospitals and blah blah bullshit. this is the 21st century, 2018. the world is moving into 4k virtual reality. that is the future and its worth investing in!

See ya big mouth, you dare call $150 million "just" you must be high on some cheap weed.

And moroever, you think if Nigeria had $150 Million to spend on something, the next thing should be to spend it on a meagre thing like video games when we have other really important issues like electricity and so on unfixed?

A tranch of recovered Abacha loot (of which there have several), is usually in the region of 400-600 million dollars. So forget that guy.
