Nigeria Is Set To See Blood Moon Tomorrow from 6:44pm to 9:21pm

The longest total lunar eclipse of the 21st century is been seen by scientist to take place tomorrow
and Nigeria is going to notice blood moon tomorrow around 6:44pm to 9:21pm. Nigerians we notice
total phase of the <blood moon> eclipse of July 27 will last 1 hour and 43 minutes, during which
Earth’s natural satellite will turn a spectacular red or ruddy-brown color.

The Eclipse is expected to reach its peak around 9:21pm and wane from then until the eclipse ends
around 12:30am of the 28th of July 2018.
What is the reasons for blood moon ?

A ‘blood moon’ happens when Earth’s moon is in full eclipse and has no special astronomical significance
rather, the view in the sky is striking as the usually whitish moon becomes red or ruddy-brown and can be
looked at with the naked eye.

why you must not look up?

It is never safe to look directly at the sun – even if the sun is partly obscured. During the short time when
the moon completely obscures the sun – known as the period of totality – it is safe to look directly at the
star, but it’s crucial that you know when to take off and put back on your solar eclipse viewing glasses.

What causes an eclipse to occur?

Eclipses occur due to the special coincidence of the moon and the Sun being the same angular size.
The Sun is 400 times wider than the moon, but it is also 400 times farther away, so they coincidentally
appear to be the same size in our sky. This is what allows us the phenomenal beauty of the total solar
eclipse. (Note: You can give the audience the experience of the change in apparent size of an object
close by and the same object farther away. They can use their hands to measure angular size.)
