Even borno is littered with churches everywhere, super humongous once in central area of the capital, another one for UNIMAID, even David Oyedepo get one big church like football field near PHCN opposite bulunkutu ward . And these people are still not thankful. In fact bypass near MNJTF office na small churches headquarters, I remember that place used to be natural grass carpet with some cows grazing around, but now na different churches fill that place

The chairman of the Ebonyi State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board, Alhaji Abas Egwu, has said there is the need for Hausa and Yoruba Muslims to recognize indigenous Igbo Muslims as equally genuine and committed adherents of Islam despite their small population and, therefore, give them robust support in the area of da’wah.

Egwu stated this in Abakaliki when he received the National Organising Secretary of the Ansar-Ud-Deen Society of Nigeria (ADS), Alhaji Ibrahim Kilani, who visited ADS members in the state.

According to Egwu, it is imperative for the Muslims in other parts of the country to help in the areas of establishment of Arabic and Islamic schools and building of mosques for ease of practice of Islam and the propagation of the religion in the eastern part of the country.

He commended what he called the fairness and impartiality of the state government towards Islam and Muslims, describing Ebonyi as the only state in eastern Nigeria which has a Muslim pilgrims board that is independent of the Christian board.

Alhaji Ibrahim Kilani said he was in the state to meet members of the Abakaliki branch of the ADS to rub minds with them on the fortune of the organisation.

You are mistaken. Islam existed in Igboland for over 100 years now. There is even many Igbo Muslim groups on Facebook and I have seen many in Imo, Enugu and Ebonyi. Islam is a religion like any other and anyone have a right to follow it.
If you people keep dividing your tribe based on religion, then Igbos will achieve nothing politically. All Igbos irrespective of religion should come together

Anybody can claim anything on Facebook,the fact remains apart from some areas in Ebonyi Islam is non existent in most of Igbo land..Am an Igbo born and bred and in my fourth decade of life and 99 percent of Igbo Muslims I've seen are mostly based outside the South East..not saying they don't exist but they are more scarce than gold..
Igbos may or may not be divided on religion BUT Islam is not in the equation..

You cant prove me wrong. I have my own evidence too. I understand and speak Hausa fluently. I hear the remarks Hausa muslims say about the muslims from the south. During riots yoruba muslims are also killed and their properties looted.... I have on several occasions seen where yoruba muslims were not allowed to lead prayers. Is this proof enough?
