Osun West senatorial zone have always been the dominant decider based on massive active voting population in Osun Governorship elections, at the presidential level of election it's seems President Muhammed Buhari will have the upper hand in Osun, but at the state level it's still an open contest for people will vote based on interest or grievances. Osun west had the first Governor pre 1999 democracy and only spent 1 and half years (Late Senator Isiaka Adeleke), Osun Central enjoyed 12 years 4 years by Alhaji Bisi Akande and 8 years by Olagunsoye Oyinlola), Osun East enjoyed 8 year by the current incumbent (Ogbeni Rauf Aregbeshola) who is to hand over soon. The Contenders are as follows Osun West (Senator Ademola Adeleke PDP younger brother to first Governor Late Senator Isiaka Adeleke(Davidos uncle) who recently won senatorial election after decamping from APC to PDP and falling out with incumbent Aregbeshola after he felt Ede was cheated by not fielding a candidate from Ede to complete his late brothers tenure, Alhaji Moshood Adeoti former SSG and recently decamped from APC to ADP after falling out with the incumbent Aregbeshola for not being fair to Osun west zone in fielding a candidate from the zone for Governorship and for APC to adopt a different method from status quo of conducting primaries for Governorship, Adeoti represents ADP).
