If you watch the evening network news, turn on your radio, scan through newspapers or some websites this week, you will notice that the topic of the day is Blood Moon (Lunar Eclipse).

An Eclipse is a result of a shadow cast by one heavenly body on another. A lunar Eclipse occurs when the moon passes through the Earth’s shadow on the opposite side of the Earth from the sun or when the sun, the Earth and the moon are in line during their movement with the earth lying between the sun and the moon, the Earth been an opaque body casts a shadow on the moon and lunar eclipse occurs.

I realized that science teach or tells us what and how, and stops at that. For example: The physicist knows a great deal more about the radiation from the sun, its temperature, its structure, and the element from which it is made. These however, say nothing about the purpose of the sun. Science tells us what the sun is and how it come to shine and stops at that. It doesn’t provide a moral framework for human life or a purpose for existence. Some people said the Sun is the source of energy for our planet, without the Sun not only would we freeze, but we would not be able to breathe. Well, they only told us what the Sun does, and not its purpose.

Edwin Hubble once said, and I quote “For I can end as I began. From our home on Earth we look out into the distances and strive to imagine the sort of world into which we were born. Today we have reached far out into space. Our neighborhood we know intimately. But with increasing distance our knowledge fades… until at the last dim horizon we search among ghostly errors of observations for landmarks that are scarcely more substantial. The search will continue.”

His statement made me to study more books, watch different documentaries, and I found out that Science has limit to some explanation. I decided to press more and I came across a piece written in advanced physics by Steve Adams and Jonathan Allday. They said “If you ask what something is, a physicist will explain it in terms of something else. For example: If you ask what water is, she will reply that it is matter in a liquid state. If you press her further, she will tell you this means it is made of molecules packed together closely but irregular ( the molecules can move past each other- this is why liquids flow to fit their container but have a constant total volume). She might then tell you that molecules are made of regular groups of atoms, and that the atoms are bound together because they share electrons. These electrons are subatomic particles, like neutrons and protons. If you then ask what neutrons and protons are, she will say that they are triplets of quarks.
What are quarks?, you ask feeling a little dizzy. She looks slightly sheepish and says that they are probably fundamental particles. What are electron then? You try again. They too, she admit, are probably fundamental. You have reached the end of explanation. Any attempt to explain what A is must lead to B. The question of what B is leads to C, and so on.

This chain of question and answer will stop at something fundamental (which is not very helpful), Science only reduce everything in the universe to fundamentals (something we today call reductionism). We were only told what an eclipse is, how it occur, but to what purpose

Scriptures tells us that God will use SIGNS, miracles and other strange ways to communicate with His children.

GENESIS 37:9-10 when he (Joseph) had another dream and told it to his brothers. “Listen, “he said, “ I had another dream, and this time the SUN and MOON and eleven STARS were bowing down to me.” When he told his father (Jacob) as well as his brothers, his father rebuked him and said, “what is this dream you had? Will your mother and I and your brothers actually come and bow down to the ground before you?”
Since God uses SIGNS to communicate to His children, does it mean that His children will be the only ones to identify these signs when they see them? NO, NO, NO.

Mathew 2:1-2 After Jesus was born in Bethlehem in Judea, during the time of king Herod, Magi from the East came to Jerusalem and asked “where is the one who has been born king of the Jews? We saw his STAR in the East and have come to worship him”.

Magi are group of people we today call astrologers, according to a 2012 survey carried out in the United States, one third of those surveyed thought that astrology was sort of scientific and 10 percent said that it was very scientific. That’s not true. It is not scientific. Astrology is a form of divination that holds that the stars, the moon, and the planets significantly influence the lives of people on earth. It can be traced to ancient Babylon (present Saudi Arabia). It’s a known fact that astrologers use divination to know, explain and predict things. But they are not so accurate and I will prove it as we progress. Ignorance is deadly. Ignorance perpetuates disease, poverty and failure. Ignorance produces constant loss in our lives and that is why we must press so hard to acquire wisdom. Well, I have checked, science and astronomy doesn’t provide a moral framework for human life or a purpose for lunar eclipse.

ACTS 2:20 The Sun will be turned to darkness and the MOON to BLOOD before the coming of the great and glorious day of the lord.

Does the event correspond to the verse in the Bible that signals the end times? NO. Does the blood moon serves as a forbearing sign of the ultimate power of the Holy Spirit? YES.
MATTHEW 24:29-30 & 31 Immediately after the tribulations of those days the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light; the stars will fall from the sky, and the heavenly bodies will be shaken. At that time the sign of the son of man will appear in the sky, and all the nations of the earth will mourn. They will see the son of man coming on the clouds of the sky, with power and glory and He will send His angels with a loud trumpet call, and they will gather His elect from the four winds, from one end of the heaven to the other.
NOTE: The moon will not give its light when the Earth been an opaque body casts a shadow on the moon and lunar eclipse (blood moon) occurs. We’ve experienced so many blood moon (two this year) but the stars didn’t fall from the sky; neither did the heavenly bodies fall that we can tell. These are proves that Matthew 24 is talking about signs that will usher in the Messiah.

ACTS 2:17-18 & 19-20, JOEL 2:28-29 & 30-32 In the last days, God says I will pour out my Spirit on all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy, your young men will see visions, your old men will dream dreams. Even on my servants, both men and women, I will pour out my Spirit in those days and they will prophesy. I will show wonders in the heaven above and signs on the earth below, blood and fire and billows of smoke. The SUN will be turned to darkness and the MOON to BLOOD before the coming of the great and glorious day of the lord.
The BLOOD MOON in JOEL 2 and ACTS 2 Signals the ultimate and awesome power of the Holy Spirit God will impact His children before the coming of the great and glorious day. When Pentecost came upon the early church, what God’s people accomplished was miraculous. And all that the apostle did, GOD WANTS TO DO AGAIN THROUGH US TODAY.
The reason why we’ve experienced so many BLOOD MOON is because God is pouring His Spirit on his children, creating awareness from one generation to another for every soul to bear the witness. Remember that the gospel must be preached to all generation before the coming of Christ.
