There was a leak which she wasn't aware of. When there is a gas leak, phone ringing, switching on the light, or switching on the cooker can lead to explosion as in this case, which is the reason why we are advised against using phones in the kitchen or gas Depot.

It's TOTALLY NOT ADVISABLE to use phones close to gas cylinders. Phones emits dangerous radiation waves. In fact, its dangerous to put phones on your ears when making or answering calls. With time the radiation will cook your brain. Its better to use ear piece for answering and making calls. And if you use gas cookers, NEVER use your phone in the kitchen.

If you know how phone works while making calls u will stop shouting radiation,people should research before forcing people to their believe

coming in contact with electronics including phone leaves you with ESD making you a walking lighter the moment you come in direct contact with higly flamable and gaseous material.

i recomend you use rubber flipers at home if you sense leakage of gas,dnt on light etc and discharge your self before touching it if you just came in direct contact with electronics.

sorry for your loss but who was making the observation while it happened? His cylinder must have been leaking for a while n when he tried to light it, it blew up. It's not the fact that he was using his phone that caused it to blow up. Get facts right sir. Sorry for your loss once again.

If there is leakage from the cylinder, why is it that the kitchen did not catch fire?
If it was ignition from the phone, It will not immediately explode the cylinder. The cylinder need to be subjected to a very high temperature for a period of time in order increase the bombardment of the gas molecules which will trigger explosion due to increased pressure in the cylinder.

Even if I spray something like insecticide on the naked flame, it will not explode the gas cylinder, rather the insecticide can can explode if the fire it caught remain burning on the jet of the can.

I am still finding it hard to find out the relationship bw phone calls and gas cylinder explosion.
Is there a different wave transmitted into the cylinder from the phone or what?
I am confused. Someone should pls educate me on this.
