If you will relate well with God, you must understand and master these two sides of God with regards to his interaction with mankind: The Sovereign side of God and the Faith side of God.

The sovereign side of God reveals that He is God- that He does what He likes, when He likes it and how He wants to do it. However, this side of God is not the safest to relate with Him. God wants us to enjoy, love and know what to expect from Him. When you are dealing with the sovereign God, you don’t know what to expect from Him and that is an aspect you cannot cancel. He will retain His sovereignty and He can still do whatever He wants to do, whenever He wants to do it and however He wants to do it. Beyond this, God wants blood-washed saints to build a consistent relationship with Him.

There are some things you have the permission to discuss with God (the Father) as His son, though He can say ‘Yes’ or ‘No’ to those who only deal with His sovereignty. As our Father and the owner and the possessor of the universe, He has given us the Bible spelling out our legal rights with Him, but the Bible also shows us that those legal rights don’t bind Him. He can go outside those legal rights and do some things of His sovereign will. Once you have His word, He is watching to perform it in your favour.

PRAYER: Father, thank you for giving me guaranteed access through your word. I receive grace to hold fast to your word in my life in Jesus’ name.
