I was in the same school with my closest Cousin and never knew he had applied to join the Nigerian Army.

After some weeks of not seeing and hearing from him, I visited their house to check on him but met his absence.

My Uncle told me, Emma you see ehn, everybody must hustle for himself... it was months later that he called me to inform me he's in the NA Depot.

Another Cousin of mine, left Nigeria for Libya a day after we talked and even planned to see the next day. He's now in Italy.

The lesson this have thought me is that, nobody deserves our trust!

We Nigerians are fond of leaving the country without informing their friends. My brothers behaved the same way and i was the one telling their friends they are no longer in Nigeria.
Right now my very good friend is quietly processing his visa to move out. He didn't plan to tell any member of our clique. If i didn't call him few days ago to have an emotional talk with him i won't know he is leaving Nigeria for good. After telling me he begged me passionately not to tell others. Wow!

And you came here to tell us but what if one member of your clique stumble upon this here

Vacating an apartment simply means that the landlord is free to rent it out to someone else since you ain't there.
Your property dare not becomes a matter there.

I told him that I've known his plans from the first day and that most times i give him money for upkeep that i knew he was using it to rocess his papers.


I later bought drinks and we celebrated his visa because life is too short to be in traffic

Nothing new. One of two best friends traveled to UK. He did not call the other friend till he was about embarking on the plane at Murtala Muhammed International Aiport.

Fast forward to 10 years later. The other friend left behind originally eventually travelled to the same UK 2 years later and now living in Canada as a citizen. The friend that first travelled is now an illegal immigrant in the UK.

My elder brother traveled out without telling us his siblings, he told only my mother.
He left his property including his car,though, he still had his rent running. When his rent was about expiring, he called us to take whatever we wanted because his friend wants to stay in the apartment.

I knew my mother told him not to tell us.

Even the last time he came back, we chatted in our family whatsapp in the night, and the next morning we saw him.
