These phone manufacturers won't just stop taking us for a ride

Gorilla glass are not resistant to any kind of falls or pressure on the screen....just make a speedy prayer to the gods of your forefathers once your phone, no matter how recent, is on its way down to any hard surface

My Samsung s8 screen cracked for no reason in my pocket..and no.. there were no hard objects like keys in the same pocket. .and I know friends whose phones' screen with same Gorilla Glass cracked just from falling off a bed to the rug

Funny thing is...the screen is the most expensive part to replace in these phones...why would we believe manufacturers talking about gorilla glass when the bulk of their after-sales profit come from replacing screens?

If these phone manufacturers are so sure of the durability of their 'Gorilla glass', then they should be allowing us test the screens by dropping the phones from different heights at the point of purchase....and any phone which doesn't survive this pre-purchase test gets replaced with a new one which is also dropped until we get the one with a screen which is strong as advertised

Samsung has the most expensive screens on any commercial smartphone..way too expensive..even the outdated galaxy s3 screen is still over 10k..while you can get the screen of an iphone7 plus for 10k or less..

Nobody said gorilla glasses are totally resistant to cracks, the glass can only help you to an extent and will only remain unbreakable as long as you're not carelessness with it

If you phone falls and crack, then it's your carelessness and you'll have to own your responsibility.

Wow. Fitness enthusiasts are correct: one should do press ups daily to get gorilla-like shoulders.
Gorilla glass to me is hype. There are many untested angles phones and other devices fall which guarantee instant shattering. I guess they didn't test the glass against my niece, one bite using her baby teeth and my iPhone always surrenders.

I was scared once after my phone pouch got missing so I taught myself the habit. For a full three years I can guarantee you my phone never touched the ground mistakenly.

A similar incident was when my father's eyesight was failing to read small print letters. He taught himself to touch type on a blackberry phone. I can touch type already on a keyboard but how man wan learn the function on a phone [ten fingers as opposed to two thumbed input]?
