The Arabian Peninsula has a very rich history dating 6000BC. The peninsula was occupied by Bedouins...the modern day Arabs. The peninsula is mostly sandy desert, hard rocky mountains, and wetlands around the coastal areas. To say this is one of the most uninhabitable places on earth is an understatement! Summer temperatures are so high that you'd be convinced your brains were being melted within your cranium; winter temperatures are so low you'd pray for global warming day and night! The desert is filled with sand boas, cobras, scorpions, goats and camels! It is a most uninhabitable peninsula!

The area was filled with Bedouin Tribes whom had formed pockets of Emirates over the peninsula. Over the centuries, they warred among themselves for supremacy...imagine fighting over vast areas of seemingly useless land? But they did! Life was hard!
In 1498, the Portuguese arrived, and took over the maritime and intermediary trade until their ouster in 1653. Along came the Dutch them the ubiquitous British that displaced the Dutch and signed "protectorate" Treaties with the numerous Emirates on the peninsula. Familiar?
For the British to thrive, they called a truce among the big Emirates along the North Eastern Coast. By 1853, permanent truce was signed and the states were called Trucial States...states in truce.
The British held sway on the peninsula.

In 1932, the Al Saud Family had had enough of the British, carved a large portion of the peninsula for themselves, convinced three other Emirates to themselves and declared themselves sovereign! The British held on stronger to the Trucial States.
The Trucial States were Dubai, Bahrain, Qatar, Oman, Shajar, Fujaira, Abu Dhabi, Al Qawain amd Ras Al Khayima. They were all independent Emirates under the British rule; held down by the 1892 Treaty.

In August 1966, the Emir of Abu Dhabi (Sheikh Zayed) started convincing the other Emirates on the "need to have a federation of sorts and develop as other successful countries". By December 1971, the United Arab Emirates was birthed in that unforgiving piece of real estate on that peninsula! Oman, Bahrain and Qatar opted to be independent countries.
A most profound event of the formation of the United Arab Emirates was their study of the 1963 Republican Constitution of Nigeria...and the formation of a federation along the lines of our discarded constitution.
Every aspect of nationhood was argued even years after. But they built a strong and powerful country with regional autonomy and delineation of central and regional roles.

Since 1971 till date, the UAE has developed at a frenetic pace! And have preserved regional identity even with a jointly controlled centre.
Data Facts
Population: 9 million
GDP: $400 billion
Landmass: 80,000 square kilometers
Literacy: 98%
Did you notice the GDP? Greater than that of Nigeria that has 180 million people!!! By extension, the average citizen of the UAE is at least 12 times richer than the average Nigerian!
The landmass is just a notch larger than the Ala-Igbo Region of Nigeria and about half of that of the Odua Region (Yorubaland)! They have a population three times less than Ala-Igbo and about the supposed population of Kano! Only about 1.2 million of the population are actual citizens while the rest are resident non citizens including my humble self!
The UAE is a thriving country! The road network in Abu Dhabi would make you swoon, while Dubai would sweep you off your feet in an instant! Despite oil and gas, the country has a large manufacturing sector. Everything is regional; all regions fend for themselves! All regions are free to trade internationally, have international airports, seaports, power plants and refineries! I've been to several of those!
The country basically developed before my very eyes. My apartment on Sheikh Zayed road was a desert patch known to me. The metro project (subway) started "in my very before" so did projects as Jumeriah Lake District! The Nuclear Power Plant in Abu Dhabi had some support from yours sincerely (started full operations about 4 months ago)...
The United Arab Emirates is a wonderful country! It is a country that shows you the "can do" spirit in motion! Despite being 75% Muslims, they hardly care about it! No non Muslim has ever been killed (to my knowledge) in the UAE!
The country has 67% male population (Lol) hence the influx of our dear sisters all over the world to the Arabian Enclave to help in the "massage" industry (sic!)

Every company worth its salt, has a foothold in the UAE! The country is working, thriving, and an envy of many!
How did a country that had no right to survive make it so good? How did a country that was next to nothing when Nigeria was the giant of Africa become such a formidable force in less than 30years? How come a country of less than 10 cities have more money and success than Nigeria with over 500 large cities? How could a country 32 times smaller than Nigeria be almost 15 times richer and 1000 times more developed?
Their Structure!
They discussed their constitution!
They agreed on regional autonomy!
They have regional fiscal independence!
They have freedom to enter or exit the Union!
They do not have a unitarized constitution!
They do not have ethnic domination tendencies!
They signed truce among themselves!
The right of each region is upheld!
They do not have allocations!
They have the equality of regions!

The Emirate of Abu Dhabi occupies 75% of the landmass of the country (the size of Benue State), has 60% of the oil & gas deposits, but has ONLY one vote in the Federal Advisory Council (Senate) and has no advantage whatsoever over a tiny emirate as Ras Al Khayimar (the size of Wuse District) with no mineral resources of worth!
The United Arab Emirates, a forlorn, forgotten and seemingly hopeless piece of desert on the unwanted part of the Arabian Peninsula, is a success story today. From a bleak outlook, they built a formidable country! Nigeria, with all the boasts, pride and obvious advantages, has wrecked the country into something so desolate that foreigners avoid it like plague and citizens cannot flee fast enough! We have saddled ourselves with an unworkable constitution and a ridiculous structure no genius on earth could make work!
We lie and deceive ourselves daily; rather than set out work, we hope for a Messiah to wave the magic wand and make everything alright! We clap for defectors and other goons in the political firmament, then hope that some "Sai Baba" or "Oloye Saraki" would yell "Open Sesame" and "Voila", development! It would never happen!
To be anywhere near nationhood, that despicable document called the 1999 Constitution must be destroyed first! We must enthrone regional autonomy, then start the journey towards nationhood! Afterwards, we could develop! But as long as this foolish structure persists, not only shall development elude us, we shall kill ourselves till no one is standing! Oh, the Boko Haram and Fulani Terrorists already started the killings? My bad!

We must #restructureOrBurst! No amount of electioneering would change our situation if we did not fight the right battles!
Elections are not our problem; the structure is!

One of the most distressing aspects of the Nigerian Society (if we could label it so) is the crass unawareness of a vast majority of the populace. The inherent lack of awareness has left the vast populace vulnerable to the vagaries of the barely aware few! In Northern Nigeria, keeping the larger population unaware is an unwritten but extremely active policy. The dominance of the Federal Government by irredentists from the North has paved the path to the propagation of this policy across the country! With this unwritten policy of "Unawareness", less attention is paid to education, and educational institutions and the personnel therein are treated with some disdain...as a necessary inconvenience. Knowledge is Power, and knowledge at the disposal of the citizen is a threat to an entrenched ruling class. On this premise, there's a collusion to keep people off enlightenment, such that they could be fed with propaganda, untruths, easily deceived and thus, subjugated!
With this unwritten policy in mind, institutions and regulatory authorities control licensing of media firm, institute policies as censorship of broadcasts, control curricula content, determine educational content and so on. The result is a largely uninformed populace. The populace, hungry for information, is a fertile ground for propaganda. In this way, the country has been locked down by a cabal of less than 1000 people for 60 years!

Little do people realise that the word "Governor" is NOT democratic! A governor, since the 15th Century, is a RULER of a province, region, or sub-state, who is responsible to a higher supreme authority! A governor, is an absolute ruler, that has been INSTALLED to "subjugate" a people within a defined boundary, keep the peace and pander to the preserves of another Supreme Ruler! A governor, by this definition, is NOT responsible to the people he rules, but to the Supreme Ruler!
Needless to say, the governors in Nigeria are accurately defined by this...and the Presidents of Nigeria, by default, are supreme rulers! A simple research would give a confirmation of this!

In creating the fraud called 1999 Constitution, and its earlier ancestor (the 1979 Constitution), the People of Nigeria, were surreptitiously converted from a free people, into one ruled by some "democratic" despots called Governors and Rulers. To keep up this illusion of democracy, Houses of Assembly were created. But for all intent and purposes, Houses of Assembly at all levels are mere rubber stamps of the RULER! Little wonder why the politicians transform into some monsters on resumption of office! The very definition of the positions of the executive, gives inordinate powers to the RULERS! And with a so-called constitution, the People legalize their own enslavement!
May it interest you, that the British, in the bid to keep their colonies subjugated and controlled, posted GOVERNORS to all their colonies...from Sudan, to Nigeria, India, Australia, and beyond. The governors do NOT need parliament or people to rule! They neither seek nor care about the feelings or development of the governed but the biddings of the English Monarch! Yet, the British would not dare introduce the position of GOVERNOR to their own country. Yet, they posted governors all over their empire!
A study of the British Governors worldwide would reveal that these governors were despots, and were all hated by the people they governed...and by extension, the British Empire!

Of course, folks would happily refer to the American System of Governors. Yes, they do have governors of the states which were a necessity to contain the indigenous population, and the numerous immigrants from Europe. But they were smart to curtail the powers of those governors, and instituted an inherent parliamentarianism into the governance that effectively made the governors the agents of the People! Not so in 4th and 5th World Countries; these countries as Nigeria, with evil intent in mind, took the word "Governor" literally, and instituted a horrible system where the citizen is completely amputated, and ruled as a serf...with governors, an emperor and "Yes-men" called Lawmakers! With this system in place, the Citizen is rendered unimportant!

This is the philosophy of the 1999 Constitution! A most despotic constitution that has no atom of democracy! So when people speak about "protecting our democracy", I scratch my head for understanding; what democracy?
For the absolute knowledge of democracy, readers are invited to study the Constitution, government and structure of Switzerland! In that country, there are regions (cantons) divided along language and culture, where 100% of the powers of the Regional & Federal is from the people! Things are so democratic there that a SINGLE citizen, if he could raise just 50,000 verified signatures, could overhaul the whole constitution! In fact, the Supreme Court does NOT adjudicate on matters of Interpretation of the Law; no court does! The People do! An individual simply faults a Law, raises 50,000 signatures, and a referendum takes place. If there is a simple majority in the plebiscite, the law is either adopted or rejected! The Federal Parliament exists at the eternal fear of ALL citizens!
Yet, the citizens hardly bother about their federal laws; they are more interested in the Cantons (Regions) and the Communes (Municipality)! Woe betide a regional or municipal government that would want to take the citizen for granted! The regions have total autonomy and are responsive to their regional aspirations! The Federal Constitution of Switzerland has subsisted since 1848 and a major amendment in 1874! All amendments since then had been about modernizing the language (Lol).

Switzerland is one of the richest countries in the world, one of the richest, one of the most developed, one of the most liberal and the most Democratic! They did not hide or downplay the presence of numerous nationalities of French, German, Italian and several others, but embraced same and turned it into a strength based on ethnic regions! They did not seek to unitarize but shared powers! And is arguably about the most resident friendly country in the world today! Almost all citizens of Switzerland could be considered wealthy by Nigerian standards. Most Nigerian thieves hide their loot in the same Switzerland, but prevent us from having an enclave as theirs!
We must wail! We just have to wail! They did not saddle themselves with the fraud of governors and an unnecessary emperor called president; they were practicable! But we are saddled with the most despicable, evil, ridiculous, and unworkable system and we dare to call ourselves a country? I don't think so!

We must destroy this structure sooner or later! We must #restructureOrBurst! No mid way!

Unitary System is Organised Slavery, where Dictatorship thrives. Restructuring is Democracy, Freedom of Choice and Self-determination.

Over the past century, we have watched as Nigeria lumbered along in uncertainty, confusion and absolute lack of direction. We observed as the illiterate constitution we are saddled with has threatened the very foundations of this enclave. We have been observing with increasing consternation as Nigerians are killed by fellow Nigerians, and too many avoidable deaths. We have seen how those who pretend to rule us have ruled us into near ruination, ruled the treasury into their pockets, and superintended over the Development of Poverty and Misery.
In horror, we have seen the lopsidedness of the Constitution and the inherent but undeclared Apartheid existing within the polity! The numerous contradictions of the Nigerian State have made it impossible for the country to enjoy peace, stability that would give way to growth and development. We have looked on in horror as the country retrogressed and is now grouped among the Committee of Failed States.
Despite the obvious catastrophe taking place in the country, we do see that the so-called leaders are neither interested nor capable nor equipped to reverse the trend and set us on a path of justice, growth and progress! And the citizenry seemed too oblivious of the machineries of good governance.

With all these happening, my team decided to go into researches on what ails the country. In the past 20 months, we have been working almost round the clock, researching the country, researching other countries and systems, and reporting the results of those researches to Nigerians on this wall. We have expended good money, time and manhours on the numerous researches. It has been very long ride...but every single minute spent has been most rewarding.
Some Readers here have been with us since the very beginning and have studied the reports of those researches with us. From The Contradictions, to the Unplanned Economy, When Dunces Rule, Made of Steel, Why We Wail and a few others. We have no idea whether we might have done some good, but we aimed at enlightening as many people as possible. The aim was to open the mind of readers, and spread the word to others, that what assails us lay mostly in the structure of the country, as wrought by an alien Constitution forced upon us.
Dear Readers, we have gone through all the problems together. There had been several that did not agree with our findings, others felt we were just grandstanding, others called us rabble rousers while some even accused us of terrorism! There were those that sicced the security agents on us, as well as those who benefit so much from this atrocious constitution and are determined to maintain the status quo. We thank you all; even negative contributions had the effect of spurring us along.

The greatest of you all are those that long for freedom, emancipation, and a better society. The best of you are those that believe in the Right to Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness. Those category of persons have been constant here like the Northern Star! You are the best, and you have our eternal gratitude.
It is unnatural for a man to be caged and prevented from exploring his potentials to the fullest. The Nigerian Structure is one that cages, deprives and strips one of the dignity of life.
