Ohuhu Multi-purpose Cooperative limited was on Saturday the 11th of August 2018 launched in Umuawa Alaocha civic hall by Obilo Ogbonna Foundation.

This scheme which is powered by Obilo Ogbonna foundation is meant to assist artisans and small scale entrepreneurs obtain interest free loans to aid their businesses.

During the handover of the registration certificate to the executives of the cooperative society the Chairman of the occasion Chief Amanze Udenze charged them to ensure the success of the cooperative as it is meant to better the lot of Ohuhu Women and their families stressing that every giant development you see today started small, receiving the chairperson of the cooperative Mrs Anariochi Nwakanma expressed Joy, stressing that though she is about the youngest member of the executive she will put in her best to see to the success of the cooperative society, and thanked Mr.Obilo Ogbonna for his foresight, love and patriotic gesture towards Ohuhu indigenes especially the women.

In his response Mr. Ogbonna advised traders, business owners and entrepreneurs to make use of the opportunity the cooperative is providing to not only fund their businesses but also improve on whatever businesses they are involved in, he said small scale businesses in developing countries run on the back of cooperatives to grow and that is why he decided to bring home the idea of doing business through cooperatives in his father land Ohuhu and promised to personally pay for the registration of all those who joined the cooperative at this early stage, Obilo Ogbonna also made an initial deposit of 500.000 naira into the cooperatives account for startups while the chairman of the occasion chief Amanze Udenze and the family of Obilo Ogbonna also made donations of 50.000 naira each into the cooperatives account.

The occasion which saw a large gathering of artisans, farmers, traders, entrepreneurs and small scale business owners come out in their numbers to witness and be part of the new business empowerment idea that Mr. Obilo Ogbonna brought to them, they thanked Mr. Obilo Ogbonna for his care towards them and for bringing to Ohuhu modern ways of business funding, growth and financial sustenance.
