YINKA AYEFELE'S MUSIC HOUSE, AND DEMOLITION

I heard that a popular Yoruba musician, Yinka Ayefele's office named Music House in Ibadan faces demolition for Town Planning Law's contravention, and as usual emotional and sentimental people are already branding it as politics!

First of all, is Ayefele a politician or is he contesting for any political position?

From day one when he started building that house, l noticed that it was on the road's set-back. ln fact, his initial gatehouse and car park were built right on the space for sidewalk and gutter of the old single lane road, such that they were demolished and his entire little space for car park wiped off, when the road was being reconstructed to pave way for ordinary gutters' construction some 6 years ago, signalling that in the future, any decision by government to apply planning laws strictly, or an expansion or dualization of that road, will consume the entire building.

To me, it is a mystery how Ayefele got the land, for it is evidently a public property, and whoever sold it, or approved the construction plan for him, has a case to answer. And if investigated, even Yinka Ayefele himself cannot be innocent of acquiring that public land, as well as the building approval through corrupt process and means.

All you need do, is take a look at Ayefele's Music House, and others in the neighborhood all the way from Orita Challenge/New Garage road's roundabout all the way to the Lagos Expressway, compare other buildings' distance from the road with his. You will clearly see that whereas others that are Town Planning Law compliant all align uniformly along a row which is almost clear 50 meters behind Ayefele's, his house sticks out like a sore thumb, isolated in their front by the roadside, such that, God forbid, if a trailer loses control on the road, it can easily run into Ayefele's house.

Another very visible violation of the house on Town Planning Law is OBSTRUCTION OF WATERWAY OR DRAINAGE, having being built on part of valley that drains erosion water from the neighborhood, it is in clear infraction of planning laws that stipulates minimum of hundreds of meters away from waterways to facilitate ease of drainage and avoid flooding in future.

For Yinka Ayefele to have wasted his money building that edifice on clearly an illegal land, he must have been too ignorant, got the land for free orva price too irresistibly cheap from someone, overconfident of his connections in government and ability to compromise the civil servants and have his way with impunity, or simply too power drunk and believing he is untouchable because of his popularity.

There is no alternatives to being right and acting right at all times. Afterall, there are hundreds of thousands of houses built in Ibadan every year, which are not touched by demolition squad because they are legal. Ayefele should look in the mirror for the culprit responsible for his house's demolition.

It cannot possibly be politics, if that recalcitrant house Yinka Ayefele built on public road's setback space, and which blocks drainage is demolished. It was a demolition waiting to happen by any government with the will to act right. It was a question of WHEN and not IF it would be demolished.

Lesson is; don't be a witch, if you hate witchhunt.

The Nigerian government is not just a cooperate body or an organization, but comprises a united group of smart and intelligently elected leaders that direct the affairs of our country and various states affair

We elected those leaders because we found that they were so intelligent, brave and insightful

Even if that building is not posing any threat or danger today, chances are that it can still pose one tomorrow

And because of their insight, an urgent demolition was conducted

How I wish it can be averted, but good governance by our governments wouldn't let it be

All over the world, no reasonable citizen despise his/her governments at the expense of showing empathy for a paralyzed human

And that's if he was truly paralyzed and not the other way round

Even if it's true.. The demolition is currently about politics and speaking against the current government.. Ajumobi is a devil incarnate.. ..He does this when he can't reconsted again.

This is not witch hunt or anything is a fact. The question we should ask first is if the structure override the public interest as claim by government. If yes nothing should stop it from been demolished. This issue is just like government want to kill one thief and there is thousands of thief in the city. If you can construct 800 million worth of property and you cannot use 1 to 2 million to process approval that make it legal it means you cause your own downfall.
