It was the weekend and Lisa would start her shift tonight.. Jenny dreaded it... She was scared of being alone with Mike but didn't know how to tell her mom... The last time it was just she and Mike she had somehow lost herself, she didn't know how but she had found herself sinking into him, craving his attention... She didn't want that to happen again but had no way of stopping him or stopping herself from feeling that way again,even as she thought about all this a part of her was excited, a part of her looked forward to pleasing him.. To hear him call her his princess and tell her she was good enough... She needed to keep that part locked up but how? .... Jenny picked up her phone and texted David J: hey D: hey...who is this? J: what? D: lol... I'm kidding... How are you Jen J: oh... I'm fine I guess D: where are you? J: at home... Why? D: well because today is Friday and you should be in school J: oh yeah... Ugh... I don't feel up to it... Wanted to stay home today and just hang out with my mom before she starts her night shift tonight D: she's on night shift this week?... That means you're. free to hang out late right? J: yeah I guess... That's why I am texting you... Wanna hang out everyday from now till next week Saturday? D: haha... That's a bit ambitious don't you think? J: lol... I know.. I just want to spend some time with you D: Awww...i can't promise everyday because you know finals are in 2 weeks and I have a lot to cover if I hope to pass and get into a good college... So do you J: oh yeah I guess you are right :-( D: but we could see tonight.. I mean it's Friday... TGIF J: okay sounds good D: what time do I come pick you up J: my mom leaves by 7 so maybe 8 will be good D: okay see you then... Gotta go... I have a class now... See you late babe J: sure thing... Bye Jenny dropped her phone and reluctantly got out of bed... She had decided to try to talk to her mom,she didn't know what to say but figured that if she started it would come to her... She got down to the kitchen and saw her mom making breakfast in her pj, Mike was no where to be found "good morning mom... Where is Mike" "good morning baby... Why aren't you dressed for school?" "nothing... I just wanted to hang with you a bit" "haha... That's sweet of you but won't that affect you especially since your exams are close by" "it's just one day mom" "I guess you're right" "where is Mike?" "oh... He went to supervise or something.. I don't recall... Why? " "nothing.. Umm... Mom... Can I talk to you about something? " "sure sweetie" Lisa said as she turned off the stove and sat down next to Jenny at the table "I don't know how to say this or what I want to say" Jenny said as she fumbled with her fingers and her heart raced "you can start anywhere sweetie" "okay" Jenny said as she took a deep breath There was silence for a few minutes... "Jenny are you okay... Say something..whats this about? " "it's ummm... A lot has happened since we got here mom and... " "oh yes and I wanted to thank you so much Jenny for being so strong... You are my rock and I know this move hasn't been easy for you but you have pulled through and even given Mike a chance...im so proud of us all.. We have come a long way and I understand we still have a long way to go before we are a real family but so far it's been great and I feel so blessed" Lisa interrupted holding Jenny's hand in hers Jenny looked up at her mom who was smiling at her in pure gratitude... She hadn't noticed before how better her mom now looked since moving here... Her skin glowed and her eyes twinkled.. Her mom looked at peace "so what did you want to tell me?" Lisa urged "I wanted to tell you that I umm...i wanted to invite you officially to my graduation and wanted you ummm to come with Mike" Jenny lied "oh honey of course... I wouldn't miss it for the world and Mike would love to come... Now let's eat so we can get the day started... Maybe make a home made face mask and paint our nails" Lisa said happily as she put out their food "sure" Jenny said defeated After breakfast Jenny and Lisa spent the day together... It was a mother daughter home spa day as Lisa put it... Jenny felt a little at ease as she laughed and talked with her mom just like old times and as she listened to her mom talk about how much happier she was and how much she loved Mike she was convinced more than ever that she couldn't tell her what she wanted to... Mike hadn't showed up the whole day and Jenny was grateful for that... It was past 6 now and she and Lisa made dinner as they listened and sang along to "fireworks by Katy Perry " which played from Jenny's phone... It was their favorite song as long as Jenny could remember, Lisa sang it to Jenny most nights when she was younger... Most nights when things were tough Lisa told Jenny she was perfect with that song.. It was nostalgic listening to it with her again.. The clock ticked and soon Jenny was hugging Lisa goodbye as she left to start her night shift... Jenny was now all alone at home, she exhaled slowly and tried to calm her frayed nerves as the realisation of being alone with Mike tonight hit her... She checked the time and it was past 7,she went to her room and started getting ready for her date... By 7:50 she was ready dressed in her favorite dress which she rarely wore, it was a dull brown color with bright yellow flowers printed on it, it stopped just above her knee and was styled in an almost ballroom fit... It was a gift from her mom on her 13th birthday and luckily she hadn't grown much since then.. She soon heard the familiar timid knock of David and ran to the door... She opened it and saw David standing there.. "wow... You look gorgeous " David said as he looked her head to toe "thanks" Jenny said as she walked past his blushing They both got into the car... "so where do we head tonight my lady" David said "umm.... I don't know... Could we go to a bar or something? " "bar?... Like to drink and stuff... But I don't feel like eating so maybe we could go see a movie and then drive around a bit" "sure thing babe" In a few minutes they were seated in the theater, David watched the movie with complete concentration... Jenny was nervous.. Her mind roamed and she wished she could tell David everything but couldn't bring herself to... She looked over at him.. He was perfect, she wasn't... Maybe he deserved better, she sighed deeply... Her mind roamed to Mike, maybe she should just go home and get it over with... Maybe he'd go to the bar and get her drinks and then she wouldn't feel bad for wanting him the sick way she did.. Why was she thinking of Mike, she was here with the most perfect boy in the world and she was thinking of an old pervert... What was wrong with her?... Maybe it's because Mike was all she knew,he was her first and the only man that she had been with..the first male to show any form of attraction to her... Maybe if she was able to connect with David like that then that would be a good step to washing herself clean of Mike... Jennys heart raced as she pulled closer to David and kissed his neck in the darkness of the theater... She heard him exhale slowly..
