According to this Nigerian man on twitter, the bible upon which Christianity is built is filled with sexism therefore it is not possible to be a Christian and a feminist.

First of all, what is feminism?
the advocacy of women's rights on the ground of the equality of the sexes. Where does the Bible stand with this?

For a book that is supposed to be about love and tolerance, the Bible contains an incredible amount of sexism. It makes repeated reference to how women should be subjugated to men and are not entitled to equal rights.

The sexism begins at the very beginning of the Bible where man is crated first (the implication being as he’s more important). Woman on the other hand is created from a small part of man’s body (his rib) as “a help” for man (Genesis 2:18).

It only gets worse. Women are not to have any influence; in fact it is preferable that they do not even speak. 1stCorinthians (14:34-5) says.....

Let your women keep silence in the churches: for it is not permitted unto them to speak: but to be under obedience, as also saith the law. And if they will learn any thing, let them ask their husbands at home: for it is a shame to speak in the church.”

Colossians 3:18 also declares “Wives, submit yourselves unto your husbands, as it is fit in the Lord.” So hear that ladies, God is telling you to do everything your husband tells you.

it is an “abomination” (Deuteronomy 22:5) for a woman to wear clothes that men wear (trousers for example). Then there is Leviticus 27:3-7 which declares women are not equal to men. In fact they are only three-fifths the value of men.

So are you a Christian woman and a feminist? Where does your true loyalty lie? Because I'm honestly tired of people pretending to be feminists only to come here and argue who should be turning eba and washing plates."

It is a known fact that the Bible is a fake book written by sexist and misogynist men to glorify themselves.

The holy Bible is as fake as Kemi Adeosun's NYSC certificate. No religion has the interests of women at heart therefore you can't tell me you're a feminist when you're still going to church -practicing Christianity that doesn't mean well for women.

Exactly. Women should be submissive to their husbands. Men should love and Cherish their wives.Its difficult to adhere to this.And that's where the devil penetrates from. Women should be allowed to evolve and partner with the man as a helper.A man cannot bear the burdens of life alone.Women should submit totally to their men(husbands).

If you want to practice something, do it wholefully and truthfully. Don't be forming Christian/Muslim and feminist at the same time. Boldly choose one let's know where you stand or forever be an hypocrite no one will take seriously.

feminism is the least of Nigeria's problems. any woman who wants to be equal to a man can do that, nobody would stop you, this is 2018, any gender can take charge of his or her life and be who they desire to be.
