Electric power supply sure needs restructuring if other things don't. How do you explain the following scenario? Lagos State has two major electricity distribution companies namely
(1) Ikeja Electricity Distribution Company IKDC, and
(2) Eko Electricity Distribution Company EKDC.
While five other States namely, Ogun, Oyo, Osun, Kwara, and Kogi are all at the mercy of Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company IBEDC.

Little wonder the service provided in these States is nothing short of rip off to the helpless residents of the States especially the Ogun axis. IBEDC has consistently demonstrated lack of capacity to deliver electricity supply for industrial and domestic use in Ogun State to the detriment of the state's stride for industrial, capital, social and human development.

At a time when the state should be building on the efforts of the government to provide the better model for industrial development of the State through provision of enabling environment which has been able to halt the urban rush for the citizens. IBEDC has taken the state back by a million steps by keeping majority of the areas of Ogun in perpetual darkness.

The government and people of Ogun state should engage the Federal government to rescue the state from this Agent of darkness. IBEDC should discharge themselves of electricity distribution in Ogun state and allow capable hands to take over. It's quite clear that they lack the capacity to partner the state to greatness.

I have never witnessed so much darkness since I first witnessed electrification in the early 80s. You only need to drive through Ogun state from Owode-Idiroko at 4:00a.m any given day. Drive through Atan-Ota to Sango through Alagbado in Lagos. You will only sight electricity supply at the Lagos end of the boundary.

Imagine you live at the boundary between Lagos and Ogun, your Lagos neighborhood enjoys electricity supply while you're always in darkness. Ogun state must renegotiate this injustice and fast. Enough said for now. I urge all residents of Ogun state to share this post till the state and Federal government respond positively to our demand.

God bless Ogun State!
God bless Nigeria!!

I quite agree with you on this notion. Am not a resident of Ogun though but I do come around from time to time and I must confess that all what you wrote there is absolutely correct.
Never a day have I come here and spend close to 2 months have there been steady electricity supply in abeokuta here. What a shame.
