Some police officers attached to the Murtala Mohammed International airport-MMIA, Ikeja Lagos have beaten a Dublin, Republic of Ireland bound female passenger, Mrs. Oyindamola Ojo to a pulp for her refusal to bribe them at the entrance.

According to sources, the mother of six, Oyindamola who had an important appointment to see her doctor in Dublin over her health issue had appealed to the security guards at the MMIA entrance to allow her sister who was helping with some of her luggage to come in with her but they refused, insisting she has to “drop something”.

Irked over this, the woman who was pissed at the way these officers were extorting other passengers by forcing them to part with money decided to record their illegal act, “I don’t know why they’re this cruel, why would they prevent someone who’s genuinely helping me with my luggage to come in with me, I’ve never heard this before, all over the world, airports are free for everybody, its only in Nigeria that unscrupulous agents such as these quack officers extort people, so I took my phone and recorded them because what they were doing was not right”, the woman narrated.

Bubble burst when the security officers later walked up to the woman who was already on queue to board, they stopped airline officers from attending to her after which she was taken to their office for interrogation.

At their office, they seized her belongings including phones and other things and began to beat her, her efforts to inform them about her health condition met a brickwall as they continue to humiliate her until she was in comatose. She was later taken to Besam police station where she was eventually rushed to the hospital when her health condition worsened.

We gathered that, doctors at the hospital where she was rushed to were on strike, but for the quick intervention of some good Samaritan who took it upon themselves to attend to her in the car.

This office was able to copy out the service numbers of some these monstrous officers, their tag numbers are: 52618, 52620, 53766 for proper recognition by the authorities.

The woman who we gathered was suffering from low blood pressure was mercilessly harassed, humiliated, beaten and eventually prevented from boarding her flight.

In our facts finding mission, this office, Enquirermag sent a quick message to Mrs. Henrietta Yakubu, the General Manager of Federal Airport Authority of Nigeria-FAAN to inquire if her office has been informed of the incident but we didn’t get any response from her or any of her team till we file this report.

We are however waiting for their own side of the story because these barbaric attitudes of the airport security personnel attached to MMIA is getting out of hand.

The FAAN officers Tag Number that were involved in the act are -

52618
52620
53766

Policemen in Nigeria are gods just because they know some corrupt politicians or police chief who gave them the job. Several capable people who want to join the police will never join because they do not know the right people. This is what we get for being born in Nigeria. Shame!

Those security agents should never go free. But remember, you will never even be posted to 'lucrative beats' like airport as security agents unless you are well connected. So,unless the heat is much, they will go free.

Despite my disabilities conditions the police men attached to Beesam Police station Airport nearly beat me also because I was struggling with them to take passenger (my sister) to hospital for emergency treatment. Thank God I did because she has already passed on by the time we get to general hospital ikeja b4 d striking doctors and nurse revived her back to life. She would have died at the custody they kept her if I do not take that step. It's obvious Nigeria as a nation needs deliverance, may God help us

Lagos Airport staff, police, custom, immigration, ndlea and airline staff are well known for their notoriety in taken bribe. It seems the government is aware and they may be making returns to their superiors.
It's only in Nigeria that bribe taken is certified at the gateway.

This generation can not fix this rotten system. A lot of people are benefiting from the rot.
Where do you want to start from?
Nevertheless, some of us still believe that there is hope.
