After my 13days in NYSC orientation camp at Ede in Osun state, I came to conclusion that there are few differences between the corps members in camp and prisoners in prisoner. Although nysc camp in Ede is lovely and it's like home away from home, yet there are still some attributes that are similar to some of the prisoners in prison. To my own observation, these are not attributable to only corps members at camp in Ede but to all serving corps members at camp in other states.
The similarities are:
Free Accommodation is given to both corps members and prisoners
Free food is given to both corps members and prisoners.
Activities engaged by them are regimented.
Free cloth is given to both corps members and prisoners.
Every corps member and prisoner are assigned number which is usually used for their recognition.
No free movements outside the gate for both of them
Food eaten by corps members and prisoners are used for parading and cutting of grass respectively.
