Premier League big spenders Manchester City have sealed their latest acquisition in the form of Barcelona's Yaya Toure.

The English club confirmed their part in the early afternoon, while Barcelona in the early evening revealed that they had concluded negotiations with Toure and his representative.

City have paid €30m for the midfielder, with 20% of that sum going to Toure's agent, who owned that proportion of the player's sporting rights. A further €500,000 will leave north-west England for Catalunya should City qualify for next season's Champions League.
