I've been job searching for a very long time, while job searching I was doing minor businesses and making up to 50k per month averagely. I later registered with an outsourcing company that got me a job with a financial firm, I didn't know initially that it was a marketing role. The salary is 35k but I was made to believe that the commissions were very much and I won't even touch my salary. I resumed and on the first day we were told to start selling immediately without any form of training. I and the new recruits started roaming about not even sure of what we were doing, its an insurance company and they have a lot of products and we are expected to just read them all up and know them. I checked the commisions of the older staff and I was seeing 5k, 10k. What can 40k do in Lagos, I spend over 30k on transport alone. People are telling me to stay for the experience, I am 30years old. I'm confused. I've been there for almost a month and have not sold anything. I learnt if you dont make the target, you wont even be paid the full salary. My target is 500k. Forgive my grammar and spelling mistakes please.

Marketing job is based on target.Failure to meet target will result in salary forfeiture.
