Whether you know it or not, you have a special neurotransmitter called serotonin that helps regulate your sleep and appetite, control pain and calm your moods.

Now can you guess where almost 95% of your body's serotonin is produced?

Exactly: in your gastrointestinal tract, those series of hollow organs that include your mouth, stomach, intestines and anus.

So your digestive system does more than just digest your food; it also helps in controlling how you feel.

Why is this important to know, you ask?

How you feel plays a big role in how you live, and even determines whether you're risking your mental health...and your life.

The leading cause of suicide is mental illness.

And before you start imagining mad people on the street, the most common mental illness today is depression.

According to Suicide.org, untreated depression is the leading cause of suicide.

So you really have 2 options:

You can continue your current food habits and hope nothing goes wrong

Or you can take a proactive approach and monitor what you eat.

Never eat anything again without considering the impact it could have on your mood.

Your life could depend on it
