There was mild drama in Oshodi area of Lagos on Tuesday during the Lagos APC Governorship primaries keenly contested by Babajide Sanwo-Olu and incumbent governor, Akinwumi Ambode.

Their supporters and agents clashed at Ward D3 Mafoluku along Agbelekale Street.

Sanwo-Olu's team was led by the leader of the NURTW in Oshodi, MC Oluomo (Musiliu Ayinde Akinsanya) while team Ambode was led by his Special Assistant on Civil Engagement, Taiwo Ayedun.
Ayedun insisted on having the polling process free and fair while calling for proper accreditation to take place before voting and counting.


After a heated argument between Oluomo and Ayedun, all those present were allowed to join the queue.

Oluomo also told Ayedun and other party members present that nobody is bigger than Tinubu in the state.

In the heat of the argument, the Chairman of the local government, Bolaji Ariyoh came in.

Ayedun confronted Ariyoh and told him point blank that this was not the agreement among party leaders concerning the election.

When a well known tout is your chief agent in a primary then it's already a clear indication of the kind of government you intend to run

If they should do secret ballot, Ambode stand a chance. Option A4 is not the best. Meanwhile no one can win Ambode in a general election in Lagos today. If Ambode were to be corrupt APC would have said it. Their only problem is he doesn't settle them.

Brother, no be true o, u don't win because u are popular but because u have a nice structure.
Ambode cannot win without APC in the general elections. The Lagos APC has a very organized structure which always helped them to win elections.
If not for the structure, Tinubu would have lost 2003 and most recently 2015 elections to the PDP even with federal might.
In my state, Delta, Ogboru is very popular but he has always lost his elections because the PDP has a very deep and organized structure.

The arithmetic is simple in the party structure, all officials are expected to win their wards and communities and when the total votes are counted, they will always come out on top.
