We all agree that majority of our leaders are greedy, self-centered, amoral, unethical and unpatriotic individuals. But they were once a mere followers like you and i. We can write all the criticism of the world often based on tribal, religious and political biases, but our leaders are a reflection of us. If we are really serious on turning the page in our beloved country and usher in change, here is a humble request to every Nigerian.

1. Don't throw garbage on the roads/streets
2. Don't spit or urinate on roads and walls
3. Don't write on walls and currency notes
4. Don't abuse and insult others, rather, be patient, tolerant and controlled
5. Save water and electricity
6. Plant a tree
7. Obey traffic rules
8. Honour and take care of your parents and grandparents , take their blessings and always respect them
9. Respect women
10. Give way to ambulances
11. Treat your neighbour in the way you would want to be treated (with respect)
12. Do not seek for corners to cut in anything you do
13. Be intentional in honesty and integrity
14. Fear God in a way that is demonstrated in your lifestyle
15. Respect every individual, regardless of race, religion, tribe or status, we are all God's creations
16. Always seek to be part of the solution and not the problem
17. Grab every opportunity to be kind and helpful, do it other will follow suit.
18. Be conscious of setting a good example for younger ones
19. Be content and grateful for what you have more than lamenting over what you lack
20. Be proud of being a Nigerian by focusing on the positives and acknowledging that God does not make mistakes
21. Stop justifying corrupt, amoral and unethical behaviors, irrespective of your political identity or affiliation.
22. Stop believing everything you read online. Apply logic and reconfirm stories before sharing them.
23. Condemn corruption in all ramification even if it involves your interest.
24. Stop the tribal and religious bigotry, you have nothing to gain from it. We are only predisposed to them because we were raised in such tribe and religious faith.
25. Stop senseless sentiments, bias and prejudice. (How has your kinsman in government affected your life positively. Greed and corruption is indiscriminate of tribe or religion)
26. Stop deifying religious leaders, you can worship God without them. They are controlling your mind with threats and promise of good life only if you deify them. Apply logic to whatever they tell you.
27. Stop being verbally abusive online or in political discourse. It's a sign of immaturity and low emotional intelligence. Respect alternative perspective to issues, you may disagree respectively without malice.
28. Resist negative energies, it only attract negativity to you. Be happy for others' success.
29. Remember that celebrities are always promoting themselves in a positive light to be in the news. Stop trying to be them. Cast a niche for yourself too.
30. Be truly patriotic about your country, stop disparaging your country, you've got no other one.

*We need to change ourselves and not the country. Once we change ourselves the country will automatically change* If we want our children to live in a clean, safe and prosperous environment, then pledge to follow these pointers in your everyday life.

No one person or leader can change the country alone; it's you and I who can change our beloved nation, by changing ourselves!

Kindly forward this important message to every single friend or group so that it reaches every citizen of Nigeria .

Thanks and God bless.
