Akwa ibom state has grown in leap and bounds within the last 3.5years of the administration of gov.udom emmanuel, a pragmatic, hard working, taciturn, peaceloving,professional in politics.

His achievment in office is enormous, this thread will highlight some of it sector by sector, so much has been achieved that it seams that he has been in office for more than 3.5yrs, he has done so well that his achievements is now subject to comparison with governors who spent more than 8yrs in office.

1).HEALTH SECTOR : Within the first 100 days in office, the governor completed the renovation of one of the oldest hospitals in Akwa Ibom State . The St. Lukes Hospital Anua Uyo. Which is one of the first missionary hospitals in the country, A hospital that has been given international acclaim in gynecological care by the iconic lifetime in IVVF work done by Rev. Sr. (Dr) Ann Ward a scottish gynecologist who spent her lifetime serving the people of Nigeria.
The governor completed the Dr Ann Ward hospital building and the administrative block in record time and handed it over to the catholic bishop of Uyo for use setting a tone for his administrative excellence.
In addition several several general hospital has been reconstructed, renovated and over 100 shipping containers of medical supply has been imported from Denver, Colorado USA. And distributed to all general hospital.

Other innovations in medical practice is the electronic medical record system untilized in the State which has made Akwa ibom the only state in the country with digital patient medical record system. Which means once captured in the system you can get your medical record available in all hospitals in the state without the use of cumbersome medical paper cards.

Huge employment of medical staff from doctors, nurses, pharmacists, lab. techs , medical information technologist etc.

Emergency Medical Units had been added to all general hospital in the state.
And emergency medical training has been offered to personnel of all the general hospitals in the state.

A'Ibom State Govt Takes Delivery of New Medical Equipment

The Akwa Ibom State government has taken delivery of another seven container-loads of medical hardwares.

Our source says that the government took deliver of one yesterday, Saturday 5, August, 2017, in addition to the 6 that arrived earlier. Another 9 are awaiting shipment to uyo from the port harcourt port.

The containers arrived the State late last night.

"100 containers of medical equipment have been purchased by the State government", Commissioner for Health, Dr. Dominic Ukpong said last month when the first set of equipment arrived the State.

The government says it is building and equipping five emergency response centre in the State.

Governor Udom Emmanuel had said that at completion, the emergency centres "will have facilities that are far more sophisticated and modern" than what hospitals have in the region.

Already, Etinan General hospital has been revamped and equipped. Some of the new equipment delivered to the hospital include, automated beds with ultrasound scanners, electro- cardiogram machines, spot vital signs devices, fetal anomaly scanners, endoscopes, hoyer lifts, oxygen concentrators among others.

And the flagship medical facility in the state. The only Quatenry Hospital in Nigeria. The Ibom Multi Specialist hospital has been re equipped, and handed over to new hospital management team from canada, with requisite multi specialist capability to manage it.

2). Infrastructural development

The state workforce has expanded since then an required new accommodation for its numerous task.
Udom Emmanuel govt rose to the occasion and provided a state of the arts complex .

3).SPORTS:
The government of Udom Emmanuel has done well in the area of sports.
The state male team Akwa united since its inception has never won a national championship.
But within 3.5yrs of udom they have won the National FA cup called Aiteo cup twice. 2015 and 2017�
In fact they would have won again this season but for the crisis in the NFF leadership that distorted the team brilliant performance.
The female team also did very well this season and were runnersup in the National championship.

Gov. Udom encouraged the Super eagles to qualify for the world cup effortlessly for the last world cup in russia. He gingered the team to become amongst the first in Africa to qualify.

Governor Udom is the first governor to ever bring a 1st teir European clubside to play in Nigeria.
This year the Governor hosted la liga Athletico madrid in Uyo, Akwa ibom state capital, making history for the Nigeria as football fans allover Nigeria gathered in Uyo to watch their soccer idols live.
Nigerians from all waorks of life for one day forgot the Hardship that APC govt. Has subjected us , and enjoyed a great game of soccer.

GOV. UDOM has been honoured as the most sports friendly governor in Nigeria for all of the above and also for solid sports infrastructural development.

A)Such as 10 new mini sports stadium in 10 secondary schools in the 10 federal districts in the state.
2 are complete and 8 others at several stages of completion.

B) a new 17000 seater all covered stadium in the oil city of Eket that is nearing completion.

C) Begining of state youths sports fesrival started 2017 bringing all primary and secondary school athletes from all the Local govt. Areas of the state to compete against each other at the 30,000 iconic stadium in Uyo.
This has already yeilded fruits as some of those kids are now representing the country in diverse sports as we speak.

The Uyo central bussiness district adds its first major highrise building with the 21 storey smart building whose construction has reached its 4th floor.

GOV. UDOM Emmanuel expressed delight at the pace of work and commended the handlers of the project for bringing his vision of a 21 century smart building that will be of international standard to the state in order to provide a 5 star business accomodation for multinational companies interested in relocating to the state .

The governor also hinted that this is just the first of many more of such high rises that will be built in the district. The district already boast of good road network with a retinue of banks hqtrs, the Uyo stock exchange building etc.
The governor made it known that he intends to put uyo in the map of cities with standard office and business space that will compete globally.

The Uyo central business district was designed and earmarked in the heart of Uyo by gov. Victor Attah who commisioned the state master plan, Attah an accomplished Nigerian architect of international repute and erstwhile president of the Nigerian instistute of Architects layed the foundation for the state.
