What is the big deal in giving a pass to whoever deserves it? Why are we so obsessed in trivialising important issues?

For me improving the quality of our Tertiary institutions should be Paramount to the NUC not the point scale. However if it will ensure uniformity then OK

this is my problem with NUC, they just wake up and scratch their joystick, if it itches them, they make what ever decision that comes to mind. the 4point grading system in the first place was poorly implemented. it affected a lot of students.. they should enlighten people first on how it works and put things in order before making hasty decision. thank God they've reverted back to the 5point grading system

UI too has started using the 5 point grade system for close to 2 to three years now. I think this is not because it sees the 7 point inappropriate or unyielding but to comply with the directive of the confused NUC

B.TECH third class has always being graded than B.Sc 2.2 I Bliv 5point grading is the best

Universities in Hong Kong follow either a 4.0 or a 4.3-point GPA System. Universities may use absolute or curving grading depending on policies.

Take the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) as an example,

In general HKUST follows a very strict curving 4.3-point GPA system.

Top 10%-20% of class = 3.7 to 4.3 (A)

Bottom 0.00%-5%F0 = 0 (F)

It has always been 5 point in Uniben.

It is the scale for GPA. 0-4.0 for 4 point, and 0-5.0 for 5 point. UI once used 7 points, 0-7.0. It is not what this bros wrote here that the NUC is talking about.

University of Ibadan grading system is different, theirs is 6 point o.

Good idea. So that we stop all these calculations when applying for abroad school.
