tongue if security votes and all huge government officials allowances haven't caused inflation...then a minimum wage of 66,000 won't.

It's simple economics. It's only those who failed economics in secondary school that will argue otherwise. Besides, how many states can ADEQUATELY pay 22500K promptly every month?

What is needed is not increment in the minimum wage (which is not even a good thing on its own) but a strengthening of the economy invariably the value of the naira.

Let them Come to an understanding. Governments should help bring down prices of commodities and Labour people should agree on D 22.5k
Labour accepting N22,500 is a slap on labourers. Niger our next neighbours earn more than 30k

Hehehe olodo

Typical.

What do you not understand that the increment in wages without a corresponding increment in the quantity and value of production leads to inflation (too much money chasing few goods)? How has the economy changed that wages should be increased just because they should not because of an increment in value production or chronic labour shortage?

Or, could it be that you don't understand SIMPLE economics?

Yes, inflation exists everywhere but in the most reasonable of forms.

If unfortunately, you don't understand the above, kindly ask Venezuelans and Zimbabweans.

What's wrong with you people? Did you not read where it stated "state governors?" Is Buhari a state governor?

Seems intelligence is dropping very fast in Nigeria.

What is the meaning of this nonsense! It's has now gotten to a point where it's anti-democratic for workers to demand for a pay raise above the meagre salary they collect that can't even feed them for a month let alone Cater for other needs, but patriotic and democratic when our so called leaders loot our present, siphon our future, gallivant around the world buying choice properties. it will never be well with the enemies of NIGERIA. Buhari made a ludicrous attempt to run for second term.

It's finished!

Thank God someone has finally addressed it. Increasing minimum wage in turn, increases inflation and you are back to square one. Is it that hard to figure The naira will just become like the Zimbabwean dollar. You earn N100, 000 and buy a loaf of bread for N5,000.

It will indeed lead to inflation because workers now have a high purchasing power which will in turn make producers, wholesalers and retailers to increase the prices of goods as a result of this increase in income. This is an adjustment to the new income.
