The President gave the approval on Tuesday shortly after the report of the committee was offered to him. President Muhammadu Buhari has endorsed the new national minimum wage of N30,000 proposed through the Tripartite Committee on national minimum wage.

Do you think the slightly marginal increment is a good idea or inadequate?

Well it's quite a good idea but you should know how greedy Nigerians can be. Cost of commodities might increase leading to some sort of inflation and then some states debt profile will be on obvious red signal due to funds misappropriation from its top government officials with their inability to pay salary. Some states are still struggling to pay the current minimum wage hence seriously lagging behind with innovative concept and investment to generate revenue. Maybe this decision would eventually lead to some states being scrap off due to their inability to meet up the salary increment.

I hope private entities will comply because they even pay way below minimum wage. Wicked employers
