My experience driving from Nyanya to Zuba was very funny. I was flagged down by VIO 3 times - at Nyanya, Kugbo, and AYA junction, each time, they asked for my particulars. The problem I have with them is not about asking for particulars, but the way some of them behave like touts while trying to stop a vehicle. Each time I asked why they behave like that, I got a rude response. Now, getting to Zuba, descending from the Fly-over, I met a pack of FRSC officials, endangering people's lives by stopping vehicles on a slope. I believe they were positioned there to ensure free traffic flow and to ensure safety - but they were more concerned about stopping vehicles.
My question is: what are the primary roles of FRSC and VIO? Is it not to ensure safety on the road and free flow of traffic? But it is obvious that they are more concerned about force-stopping vehicles.
Another question is: why are these guys so hell-bent on stopping vehicles, thus endangering people's lives? Do they profit from it?
It is high time these nuisances stop.
Meanwhile, I have installed secret cameras on my cars to record the excesses of those guys. We will soon be posting their videos on social media.
