Why do Muslim ladies in Banks and other establishments comply with the dress codes. Where they are allowed to wear such only on Fridays including native dresses. Why do they comply.

They should have contested it proclaiming their freedom to wear hyjab naw and see if they won't receive sack letter after some few warnings.

Wear your hijab in your home or mosque and not in public school. If you must cover your head, wear a beret. Same hijab rubbish happened in Lagos sometime ago and they were taken to court and worn. Hijab are currently not being worn in public schools in Lagos

when humanity gets it right, banks and every over other institution won't have to be intolerant of religion. Let's assume banks wants to be secular and require we all come to work wearing hijab you will shout islamisation but it's cool if banks stop others from practicing their right to religion. So this people know the rules better than the school, don't combine school rule with Islamic rule. If the school said no wearing of hijab obey it, if u are not satisfied with that you can change your ward to another school that allows that. Schools were 'evangelical' tools in those days. Lots of people who resisted it back then ended up with half education or not going to school at all. What a tolerant religion indeed.

ISI is a school owned by UI staff community (comprising adherents of many faiths). Any activity or policy against any faith should be addressed. Let other religions' faithfuls bring up their cases too but do remember that these girls clamoring for hijab wear it at home too. After all not all Muslim girls wear it. But should we deny those that can't do without it?
Others should clamor for what they wear at home too and not customes to wipe sentiments like they did in Iwo few years back.

come on that is a lie nobody wants your kids to wear hijab. Rather you are the one wanting their kid to do away with hijab against their tenets. If you get my point honestly yes there is religious war around but don't you think the kind of apprehension you just created now could cause one. If a Muslim knows that you will rather want his kid to not wear hijab so you could have your way then he would go any length to make sure he does have his way too. I say simply live and let live that way we all can be happy together. I have had an Hausa guide as my security and all I have to do is let him observe his religion and I observe mine so long as he his doing his work rightly.

What a hypocritical environment we found ourselves, when a female student wears a micro mini gown to school she is seen has exercising her right but the moment she puts on a hijab and dress modestly, she is termed a fanatic. I'm not trying to bring them down or denigrate them, but I just feel Muslims like to act as if they're being mistreated. I understand that they take their religion as a culture, but then again they should stop forcing their nuggets on other people, because some of us take our religions very seriously too but we know when to cut back.

A government school is not a religious school. It won't kill anyone if the girls drop their hijabs for a few hours of school. Schools don't allow Catholic kids to wear Chaplets and medals and finger Rosaries. Schools don't allow girls from other Christian denominations to cover their hair or wear Church vests to school, so why should Muslim girls be permitted to wear hijabs to government schools? Everyone should try to be more tolerant, more flexible and less over-zealous.
