OPEN LETTER TO ONDO STATE GOVERNOR ON THE POLITICAL PROBLEMS AT IJU - ONDO STATE NIGERIA

The Executive Governor

Dr. Segun Agagu

Ondo State Governor

Government House, Akure

Ondo State Nigeria.

We the indigenes if Iju Ondo State living in the United States of America (USA) hereby write you this open letter to express our concern and displeasure to the recent and recurrent political terror besieging our people at home by some group of thugs and terrorists loyal to your Government. Our people at Iju Ondo State Nigeria continued to be victims of political terrorism due to rivalry between one of your appointed officials and one elected official.

We heard the following reports of how:
[li]Young innocent men are been killed with different weapons, including guns, by these thugs (usually non-indigenes) sponsored by your politicians[/li]
[li]Young girls are been raped and humiliated in the town by these thugs[/li]
[li]People are been victimized and harassed by these thugs[/li]
[li]The King, Our Royal Highness continues to be harassed and chased out of his domain by these thugs. He now seeks refuge around neighboring towns and cities[/li][li]This is an abomination and a disgrace to our fundamental African culture and values we grew to know in this once peaceful town[/li]
[li]Citizens of our town continue to live under fear and oppression and flee in droves to neighboring towns and cities for their safety[/li]
[li]Our brothers and sisters living outside the town around the country could not come to visit home because of fear caused by these thugs[/li]
[li]Above all, the Nigerian Police could not come to Iju town to arrest any of these evil perpetrators simply because of their connections and protection by the incumbent government[/li]
These events are of big concern to us as it has eroded our heritage and is threatening to pull us further back into the dark ages we have long forgotten.
Sir, we as a body is holding you accountable and responsible for all of these problems. As a democratically elected Governor, the Chief Executive, Chief Security Officer of our State, your primary duties are the security and protection of lives and property of the entire citizens of Ondo State. Iju town is less than 10km to your seat of power. You are a democratically elected Governor democracy simply means government of the people, by the people and for the people in which the supreme power is vested in the people and exercised directly by them or by their elected officials. Your promise during your campaign for this seat was that you will protect and improve the lives of the people. This period has been the most traumatic for the people of Iju because their lives were neither protected nor improved. You need to put something in place for a lasting peace in Iju. We would like to see Iju people back to their peaceful life. This is the only thing that will make us and the people of Iju happy. Of course little or no development has take place in the town with enormous resources being committed to terrorism and brazen lawlessness.

We live in a time when the call for freedom and democracy echoes across the globe, the right to equality before the law, or equal protection under the law, is fundamental to any just and democratic society, whether rich or poor, ethnic majority or religious minority. Regrettably, this fundamental right of security and protection of our citizens have been denied the people of Iju by your government. Our people at Iju continue to live under fear and oppression while young men, women and children are been victimized, harassed, killed or raped by these thugs groomed and unbleached on our people by selfish, crude, wicked and shortsighted politicians. Surely, your government can call your political associates to order.

Please Mr. Governor, we hereby plead with to you to find a lasting peaceful solution to these problems of terror your politicians brought to our Town.

Sincerely

Iju-Club USA

It is going to be difficult for Agagu to return back to Ondo state ,but i tell you , Governor Agagu after we wrote a story that he may loss, have been the governor in Nigeria that have worked hard the most to get re-elected.

This Old man can fight back,  I wish him all the best as he try to return back to the state house,   We really did not mean to hurt anyone by written it,  just a warn for him,   He may win be  less then 30,000 to return or loss by large number. If you win, if he wins, or who ever i would send you idea, how to make ondo better.

I wish him and the other good lucky,

Ok ,  someone out there, appoint me for something now,   ha ha ha  I no try reach,

I don't think he will win, and I don't see Mimiko winning as well, I was just in Ondo in December and I am yet to see what Agagu has done that is so outstanding, the roads are still bad and don't even get me talking about schools. My Almar mata Victory college is still as dilapidated as it was back in the 80's
Re: Open Letter To Ondo State Government by nigeria1: 12:36am On Apr 13, 2007
Trust me on this , It is either Mimiko or Agagu that would win, I just watch a video of mimiko looking for vote all over ondo, the crown was large, And I know I read about Agagu doing everything too to win, I wish them lucky, Even if Mimiko wins, he would return back to the PDP in less than 2 month,

TokUSA
shocked
what is wrong wt what i have written. if u want him to have a copy of this letter,I think a news paper should appropriate (a copy might get to him) or a fax, email, direct post to him/any of his aides.

.
MAMAJAMA:

I think you are barking at a tree here, my friend you can email this to the governors office, or fax it to his PA

But if its for us to see and comment, well this is one of the best avenue to that.
As for the  Violence, this is what characterise most of the PDP states, Oyo,Ekiti and they are introducing that to other states they show interst in to announce tneir presence:Lagos, anambra.

anyway to hurt feelings its my opinion,u don't have to accept it.

Thank you all for your input.

tlops, I think we are now saying the same thing - Thanks.

It's just a pity that these so called politician are so crazy about position and fame that they can't even remember the "sons of whom they are", their family name and generations yet unborn, all they can think about is their throats and fill their pockets, it's all about win, win and some would even go to the extend of killing innocent soul all in the name of politics (like Fayose former Ekiti Governor and other). I think it's high time Naija politicians awake from this slumber and turn on a new leave - Not a DO OR DIE AFFAIR - like Baba Sege Obasanjo said, what a shame! That type of statement from somebody that suppose to be a role model to other after his years of experience in Naija politics,  Like father like sons.

Can you all even imagine those kind of terrible acts going on for years at Iju a few km from the sit of power and Governor Agagu pretends as if he's not aware and call these PDP area fathers and area boys to order?
