Our puppies finally arrived on the 25th of December (Xmas puppies). We lost almost all due to complications beyond our control.

Only one survived the entire ordeal,

Well.... Researches haven't really shown or explained the absolute causes of still birth in animals.

They happen due to so many reasons, in which most explanations are still been researched on.

In our case, my conclusion is, our dame probably suppressed her delivery by a week due to so many factors which are still not known..If I were to pick a reason, I would assume that her anxiety, especially as it was her first delivery, got the better part of her.

Hence, this may have caused stress for her yet unborn pups
