recently Nigerian Army was massacred and with the video trending online
the terrorist are fully on land doing the damages and not even an air strike from our airforce

a serious country battling terrorism always have standby air support ready to launch precise attack when called on

US Russia Israeli major method of fighting terrorism is through air strike and it has been proved effective because terrorists don't have time and resources to train air men and with a good pilot AA (anti air craft) can always be dodged

in the recent attack in matele if everything was supposed to be right, the troops would have called for air support and within short time the air support will render them the needed help.
it's harder to attack aircrafts unlike ground troops.

my lieutenant friend told me when asked him the same question
he said that there's a big politics going on in sambisa between army and airforce
that both high ranking officers always claim the warfare they're not supposed and sometimes the army will claim what is supposed to be airforce work and when kasala like matele Sega burst the commanders of the air force will stand down instead of providing air raid and later they'll claim that they didn't receive the signal on time.

i marveled
no wonder those soldiers accused their superior of making money with them

In Nigeria only a President can order an airstrike, there is lack of synergy between the forces no doubt but calling for an airstrike isn't a straight forward thing like you watch in the movies.

Airforce always like to first make a thorough surveillance flight of the intended area to lunch an attack before beginning an air raid to avoid civilian casualties (like the idp scenario) or worst case scenario hitting the Army men they came to rescue.

Except on routine patrols and special operations, air force assets are not deployed any how, and fighter jets are not airborne 24/7 like in the american movies (due to lack of resources for such, and exposing them to surface to air missiles).

Us Army had a total of 4,424 fatal casualties while 31,952 were badly injured in the war In Iraq alone, Even same Us army men were killed in Niger republic by this same terrorist. So please don't make it seem like Nigerian Army ain't doing enough

In view of the video posted, its very clear the base only lacked adequate supplies which the invaders took full advantage of, it wasn't like there were no hardwares like T4 tanks or APC on ground, or the soldiers had no riffles of their own, but am guessing they had exhausted their supplies and before getting a replacement they were ambushed. RIP to the fallen heroes

Stop politicizing issues like these please! God knows the cause of the tragedy in metele but it surely wasn’t lack of Weapons nd Ammo more like lack of co-ordination nd good defensive strategies as per the reports we all read circulating on the web our most casualties was when troops were trying to retreat! Rip to our fallen heroes.. may God console their families.

nice input but what happened to standby Re-enforcment?
air strike is not about launching missiles
that's the work of airborne which i know the airforce have
like a back up of 3 to 4 of it would have neutralized the attack
those machine guns on it can cause a big damage to the enemy and i don't think it requires surveillance as you said.

moreover it's all politics

why would they retreat if they're well equipped to face them
you're the one playing politics here
