FAQ

Q: Does suicide send someone to hell?

A: Some people assume that a person who commits suicide is doomed to eternal damnation in hell. But that’s not what Scripture teaches.

Scripture says that the only sin that will send a person to hell is the rejection of the Lord Jesus Christ (John 16:9).

We should also remember that God does not want anyone going to hell but wants all people to have an opportunity to turn to him and accept Jesus as their Lord and Savior (2 Peter 3:9).

One of Satan’s schemes involves his attempts to deceive a person’s mind by tempting them to dwell on thoughts of suicide.

Suicide results from acting on the deceptions from the kingdom of darkness affecting the mind.

A person considering these thoughts is suffering from a sickness of the mind and is no different from someone afflicted with a sickness in the body.

Jesus said, “The thief’s purpose is to steal and kill and destroy. My purpose is to give them a rich and satisfying life” (John 10:10). Satan is the one who steals life, but Jesus is the life-giver!

However, let’s not forget that no matter how difficult the situation, the Bible promises that through Jesus Christ we are overcomers (1 John 5:4-5, Romans 8:35-39).

God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand, has the power to guard our hearts and minds through Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:6-7).

He will keep us in perfect peace as our minds are fixed on Him (Isaiah 26:3) and He will renew our strength—spirit, soul and body (Isaiah 40:31).

You shall not kill.

When someone commits suicide (taking ones life), it's instant death. He has absolutely no opportunity to repent.

He died a Murderer.

So Mr Preacher, will a murderer go to heaven?

People should be wary of people like you Op

Do you agree with me that people that commit suicide have a mind condition? If you do then you’d be able to reason more objectively. Will you say all people with mental conditions that die that way go to hell. No sir.

What you should understand is that man is on 3 dimensions- Spirit, soul and body 1 Thess 5:23. When a man gets saved it is his spirit that is born again and made new 2cor 5:17. His mind and body remain the same.

Now, it is the responsibility of the man to work on his body and soul (mind), that’s why the Bible says present your body a living sacrifice and be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Rom 12:1-2.

This is because the mind is the battlefield for the devil to reach you. If your mind is not strongly rooted in God’s word, he can easily deceive you. And that is how he gets to deceive so many people.

At salvation, God has performed a miracle on your spirit making it brand new 2cor 5:17, but he will not do anything about your mind- it is your responsibility, like I pointed out in Rom 12:1-2

Not everyone knows this, and that’s the awareness God has sent people like me to create. After salvation, some people don’t renew their minds with God’s word, thereby giving the devil the opportunity to deceive them. That’s why you have cases like suicide and the mentally deranged.

Now, their spirits are still saved but their minds have been deceived by the enemy. And because the spirit is the real man- Apostle Paul calls the spirit the inner man- that’s the real you, not your body or soul. That’s why such people are not damned.

You certainly don't have the Holy Spirit!
Who originates sin? - Satan right? Ok.
Who deceives men and women to sin and disobey God's law? Satan still be? Ok.
When man sin and died therein, who gets the punishment of hellfire? Man right?
But how come, isn't Satan that deceived him? Yes of course, but we're solely responsible for our actions and inactions!
Neither God nor Satan forces anyone to serve Him/him as the case may be!
A person that commit suicide doesn't just think about it and take instantaneous action to end his life. If a gradual process or what the Scripture calls presumptuous!
Suicide is a daring boldness arising from lost of faith and hope in God and the Saviour Jesus Christ!
Hen 11:6 says " but without faith, it's impossible to please Him!!!!

Your religious mind just spoke out loud. There are so many things you don’t understand to begin with. Let me first ask you, are you aware that man is on three dimensions- Spirit, soul and body 1 thess 5:23? When man is saved, what part of him is saved. Answer these two questions first, then I’d see how I can help you.

From the way you just related, it shows that you don’t realise why Jesus came into the world at all. John 10:10. He came to give life not to steal life like the enemy. He came to save not to condemn.

Look, answer the two questions above (not sentimentally), so I can understand where to begin relating with you from...
