Good Day my fellow nairalanders. I believe by now everybody must have heard of the death of a madonna student by the name Stephanie due to illness which would have been easily avoided if she was allowed to leave school to get proper treatment and check up. RIP Stephanie. But this is one of the many things we go through as a madonna student. Am here to tell you most the things happening in madonna university elele campus

Infrastructure and dirty environment

The buildings we have as hostels are as old as the school itself, almost two decades old. From then till nw, the buildings have remained the same, no renovation, no repairs, the toilets and bathrooms are about collapsing on each other and the stair cases are weak and will collapse in no time. Fr. Edeh normally enters the hostel and sees it like that but nothing is done. The same man goes about building churches at expense of the lives of the students. The school environment is always dirty thanks to his cows that Normally roam the environment polluting and defecating even in classrooms. One time he told us that he values the cows more than us because they are more obedient. When ever NUC comes around, the students are made to stay in the hostels and not to leave the hostel until NUC officers are gone. Reason is they don't want students talking to the NUC officers because they are afraid we might reveal wats happening in school to them

Cases of suspension and expulsion.

Students are suspended due to silly reasons not even enough to earn a punishment like growing beards, a guy walking with a lady or hanging out with a gal in one of the cafes in school, not going to church or jogging, ladies wearing the tight or short gowns(fr. Edeh nearly stripped a gal naked if not for the intervention of other priests) ladies nw wear long skirts and gowns(Mary amaka style), talking back at any security officer or hallrep. once u complain u get suspended. The suspension is for one year.

No freedom in school.

Bad enough, we are not allowed to leave the school environ till vacation day, even at that the security men and hallreps(fellow students) will be telling you wat to do right or wrong, even if it suits u or not u must do it. refuse or protest wit dem and get suspended. The school recently employed men that wear brown suits and patrol the school, they call themselves intelligence men. Their work is to move round and check students gadgets(tablets and laptops) of anytin that is against the school rules or pictures that can implicate and show the bad sides of the school. We are not allowed to take pictures in school so that we won't expose any of their bad deeds to the world. They will even ask you to give them your memory card to go through if u re found wanting u get suspended

Cases of exeat and transcript

Many deaths would have been avoided if students are allowed to leave the school whenever they want. Once again RIP miss Stephanie. The school will never give you exeat even when u are sick, instead they will refer to their death trap called hospital with literally nothing to handle or tackle any disease or sickness. the hospital is the same as the hostels(old as the school with no improvement or renovation). They will only give you the exeat if your parents come to school themselves that is after much stress and frustration they must have gone through. I know you will ask upon the outrageous amounts we pay as schl fees, why are things like this. If u ask me who I wan ask.
The staffs and those in charge of students affairs(in charge of exeat and clearance) are heartless and wicked, they will stress and frustrate you till you regret why u were born. The school authority will neva give you transcript to another university because they know if they do, the school will be empty before the session ends. The school knows that students are suffering and are tired, that is why they will never issue letter of transcript to any student because they know many will leave the school. Last I heard you can get Letter of transcript for 500k that was before they stopped giving entirely.

church gatherings and activities

By nw you must have known as a student you must go to church and all other church activities even if u are a catholic or not. While in church u must stand,sit, kneel and clap when asked to. Failure to do so can fetch u suspension. Sometime ago some students were suspended for talking while fr. Edeh was speaking. The school Normally holds church conventions with visitors from all over the world. Fr. Edeh knowing he has few church members who are mostly made up of poor and the less privileged people, he calls out his students all over his schools and campuses to attend the convention (u must come o) just to give the visitors the impression that he has much crowd and the few church members are meant to sit at the back where they won't be seen because they are poor and not properly dressed. He Normally tells the visitors that students are pilgrims and he is the one taking care of them

Madonna university is not as people see it from outside, it is worse on the inside and nobody is doing anything about it. The students are suffering in the name of acquiring a degree and notin is being done. I know my post is long but is worth reading and I hope it gets to the proper authorities and I hope they look into it and the proper thing is done. Btw am a madonna student and would have backed my post wit pictures but due to the no snapping in school policy and smart phones being seized, I couldn't. I hope this gets to the front page because people need to know d true madonna university. These are the few things out of many we face in school. Some will say we went to madonna willingly that we weren't forced but some had no choice because of how hard admission is to get in the country.
