Presidential aide, Lauretta Onochie has reportedly uncovered a plot by the Opposition Peoples Democratic Party, PDP to rig the 2019 General Elections.

On Sunday, Onochie alleged that the Presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar and other PDP stakeholders had plotted to use the electoral bill if signed to rig the forthcoming 2019 elections. It could be recalled that PoliticsNGR earlier reported that President Buhari declined to assent to the bill for a fourth time citing certain clauses in the bill could negatively affect the conduct of the 2019 general elections.

Onochie wrote;

"Pres. Buhari came to governance through the popular will of the people of Nigeria who used the Card Reader to put a stop to his years of winning Presidential elections and never announced winner. He loves the Card reader. We love the Card Reader.

What they did was to cleverly replace “COUNT & ANNOUNCE”, with only “ANNOUNCE” in the new electoral bill amendment which portends grave danger for the progress our electoral process made in 2015.

It means COUNTING of our votes will no longer be necessary in 2019. Electoral umpires could announce any figure to favour whoever pays them well. They also want political parties to have the ability to merge 21 days to the election instead of the Current 90 days. It’s a recipe for disaster.

It’s disgraceful that Alhaji Atiku Abubakar is pushing for our President Buhari to sign the flawed document that would ensure our disenfranchisement, and then enthrone manipulation of number of votes or in one word, RIGGING. But Pres. Buhari will always protect the interests of Nigerians 

It’s unfair to Nigerians that the goal posts are being shifted in the dying minutes of a match. Thank you great President and Vice President too, the defenders of our nation, for spotting the pitfalls."

This doesn't add up at all. After sensational announcement of uncovering a plot, the next was Onochie ALLEGED... The point is that this is one allegation to justify the President's inability to do the needful. Nothing in the amended electoral bill gives riggers that power. In any case, it is the APC that has the upper hand if Onochie's scenario were the case. They have control of state apparatuses.

O ye children of hate, anger and frustration, you can insult her down to her forefathers, but pdp's plan of rigging 2019 election won't work. Our vote must be counted before announcement. Pdp should try their popularity among Nigerians rather than this failed attempt at arm twisting the buhari led administration. Buhari is not a coward that you can box into one corner. Come February, Nigerians will decide.

Is there anyone that takes the illiterate seriously? Even If the members of NASS were high on cheap weed, will they ever propose the cancellation of vote counting? If votes are not counted, how will the winner be determined.

Buhari is working on:
- Diversification, seeking other avenues to generate revenues to complement what we earn from the Oil Sector (like Agric, etc).
- Social investment programmes that create employments and provide seed money for Nigerians who wants to do business.
- Improve the ease of doing business in order to encourage new Startups and strengthen existing businesses.
- Block loopholes so corrupt politicians will not find it easy to loot public funds.
- Ensure credibility in public services, so that the little resources available will be properly utilized.
- Save up so that our Economy will have the Backbone it needs to soldier on to greatness.
- Prosecute offenders to serve as deterrent and bring accountability.
- Recover looted funds that were senselessly fissile away from the treasury.
- Encourage Nigerians to work hard so we can all have a better future ahead.

And all Atiku cares about is How to sell NNPC and National Assets?
